‘ Captain Vimes is a disillusioned drunk, Colon is a coward and Nobby has to carry a document from the city’s Patrician proving he is human. Suddenly into their lives comes a strange murderer which leaves only shadows, this plus a tea kettle eating swamp dragon and a secret society using magic for their own evil ends makes for hilarious entertainment.
