Why Should There Be More Funding For TB?

TB:

• TB is a disease that mostly affects the lungs.
• TB is caused by the bacteria "Tubercle bacillus"
• It is contagious and is spread by air coming from the body of an infected person.
• The lungs, brain, kidneys, and spinal cord are the parts of the body mostly affected by TB
• It affects the human body with a horrible cough, and later weight loss, chest pain and breathing difficulty.
• It is cured by taking 4 pills every day for 6 months (at the least).

Even though TB is curable, the medicines and treatments don't always work. Patients must take a lot of medication for a long time, and will probably forget to take it sometimes. It seems that a minimum of 4 pills a day for 6 months seems a little too much medication for one person to be taking for so long. Also, TB can come back in a person and be worse then it was the first time. If there was more funding for research for a better cure for TB, patients wouldn't have to take so much for so long. Maybe patients already sick with TB could become vaccienated for it so they wouldn't get it again if there was more funding for TB.
