Orangutans live in the Tropical Rainforest, a very hot and humid place.

The orangutan is slow and strange on the ground because of its short legs and

long arms, but is successful in high trees.  Vines become small bridges for the

orangutan to move through this thick jungle.

             The orangutan spends the day eating and sleeping.  It may travel only

a low three miles a day.  Although the orangutan can move quickly, it carefully

tests each branch before letting go of the one before.
