Transport
It’s easy to get to the resorts in the Orobica Recently the road network in the two most important valleys, the Brembana and the Seriana Valley, has been developed (widening, tunnels, by passes etc.), particularly the Brembo trunk-road, assuring a calm homecoming thanks to the higher traffic flow. The resorts in the Orobica area, are more or less one and a half hours by car from Milan, a distance of no more than 100 km.
A widespread bus network serves all the main roads to the winter sport resorts of the Province of Bergamo, and the Orio airport is sited at a strategical spot to reach the two most important valleys. Overnight stays are increasingly popular in addition to the week-end and Sunday ski-goers are also arriving charter and week-long skiing fans.
The majority of ski resorts are located approximately 1 hour or 100km from Milan Orio al Serio International Airport.
The airport is strategically placed giving easy access to the excellent road network that leads you through the Valleys of the Serio and the Brembo to your resort.
Resorts
Foppolo is a resort of international calibre, it was built in the basin of the Bremba Valley so as not to obstruct any of the slopes. It has a wide selection of quality hotels, ample parking, a large shopping area, an ice rink and a nightclub. There are 23 pistes covering 47km of mountain including 10 blue runs, 7 red runs and 5 blacks.

In total more than one hundred mounting facilities for more than altogether four hundreds kilometers long ski runs: that’s the outstanding number shown proudly by the Bergamo mountain area in winter, thus becoming a valid part of the best equipped skiing areas of Lombardy, to the Regional skipass of which the area joined.
All the most important resorts are sited in the Orobica Pre-Alps and compete well with the more famous and classic resorts of the complete Alps, of which they build the ideal forward position.
There are twenty winter sport resorts - big and small ones, in the province of Bergamo.

Facilities
The mounting facilities, are a pleasure for the fans of skiing. Lots of them allow a great number of skiers to achieve high altitudes.
In addition to the cabin –lifts already functioning quite a time (at and Poieto, Piazzatorre) five multi-seat chair-lifts (a three-seat one at San Simone, a three seat one at Colere, two four seat ones at Foppolo and a four-seat one on the Presolana) are functioning, added to various two-seat chair-lifts existing in the recent localities of the Bergamasco area (Valtorta, Colere, Gromo, Lizzola, Alpe Arera, Colle Vareno, Monte Pora).
The rest of the cable-lift network consists in single-seat chair-lifts or ski-lifts (some of them parallel or double track ski-lifts) able to fully satisfy the demands of the skiers.
