StarEdit Utilities
GUEdit 3.6 Alpha GUEdit is a nice program for a couple reasons - You can protect your maps and change the player colors. It's perfect for prevent odd versions of your maps from being created. Every map should be protected. It's only fair to the owner. You can also change player colors from the standard red, blue, etc. to black, teal, tan, and other colors. This version is simplified so you don't need extra files except JavaRuntime which can be found below. J2SE v 1.3.1_08 This file is required to run GUEdit. It's kind of dissapointing since it's a large file but it's worth it. If you're a map maker, then take the time to download GUEdit and JavaRuntime. StarCraft X-tra Editor This program is NICE. It has five different modes of StarEdit. A couple I find pointless but still its nice. There's a regular mode which is like the normal StarEdit program with extra features. There's a nifty Player 12 placement mode. This allows you to place neutral units for Player 12. Think of it, you could have an 8 player map and use Player 12 for beacons and other things. Very handy. Other modes are good too. One lets you place units almost on top of each other. That can come in handy for maps that are small and would require supply depots to be stacked. Download this. It's worth it. ISOM ISOM is a nifty program for laying square terrain. I can't really explain it. You've probably played a Bound type map. This editor allows you to lay that square-like terrain. You might find this program useful. Zap Placer You've played those fastest maps right? Well this handy program allows you to stack minerals and other stuff. It edits the terrain like ISOM and it is glitchy. I would suggest using it last because if you try to open it up in an editor all the minerals will dissapear except the original one in the stack. |
