TEASER
FADE IN:
EXT. FLOATING ISLAND – GRASSY PLAINS – NIGHT
Palm trees fluttered into the wind on a
star-lit sky. Deep in the flat grassy
plains of the Floating Island, everything is quiet and peaceful. All of a sudden, a MOTORCYCLE ROARED out of a
jungle not too far away and FLASHED INTO VIEW.
The blinding headlight floods some of the plains with its headlight. The driver is wearing FULL BLACK, black
boots, black gloves, black cargo pants, black T-shirt, black elbow bands, a
small black bag slung around the driver’s shoulder, and a small laser rifle
with the bag.
CLOSER ON DRIVER
The driver is wearing a black motorcycle
helmet. We see the eyes have thick
eyelashes over them, indicating the driver is a SHE. She looks behind herself and notices THREE
SWAT BOTS coming at her all on motorcycles!
WIDER
The three SWAT Bots continue chasing her
through the fields.
SWAT BOT #1
Resistance is futile. Surrender and pull over.
The driver gives them a STARE, and then she
turns around and enters a ROCK FIELD area.
EXT. ROCK FIELD
The rumbling engine sounds of the motorcycles
echoed through the silent night. She
makes circles around the rock field, which looks similar to STONE HEDGE. The three bots continued chasing her.
WIDER
The motorcycle driver has one SWAT Bot
directly behind her. She SKIDS around
causing the SWAT Bot to reach out and grab her.
The bot looses balance and FALLS. It tumbled everywhere until it hits a rock,
dead on impact.
ON DRIVER
The driver turns around again. She causes the bots chasing her toward a set
of three rocks piled like a small gateway.
She DUCKS her head, passing it.
ON SWAT BOT
The SWAT Bot drives through it, loosing its
head. The other bot DUCKS.
ON DRIVER
The driver cranks up the speed and speeds
off.
WIDER
The other SWAT Bot continues giving
chase. The other
motorcycle driver SKIDS AROUND and stops, facing the SWAT Bot. The SWAT Bot skids to a halt and faces the
driver wearing full black. After a brief moment of staring at each other, the driver pulls out
her laser rifle and aims with one hand.
ON SWAT BOT
The SWAT Bot aims his hand rifle at her.
WIDER
Then, the two SPEED to each other. Laser blasts shoot at each other like crazy!
CLOSER
Finally, the female driver pumps the bot full
of laser blasts! The SWAT Bot falls back
dead and the motorcycle EXPLODED!
ON DRIVER
The female driver stops her motorcycle. We can clearly see a small burn on her left
forearm. She holds it in pain with her
gloved hand. She gets off her motorcycle
and removes her helmet.
CLOSE ON DRIVER’S FACE
The driver removes her helmet to show that
she is QUEEN ALEENA! Quickly, she blew
on her wound, and then she cupped her mouth over it and sucked on it. Aleena spat out some of the laser particles
in her wound twice. She then reached in
her bag and pulled out some cloth bandages.
After wrapping it around her arm a few times, she sighed and stared out
toward the horizon.
ALEENA
Too late Robotnik, I already delivered the
message to my children. They’ll be here soon.
Even if this is called
Aleena reached out and picked up her
helmet. Once she put it on her head, she
looked toward the horizon again.
ALEENA (CONT’D)
Oh, and send as many SWAT Bots as you can... you’ll never get the plans I stole from you.
PAN DOWN to her bag, showing several computer
discs.
WIDER
Slowly, she turned back to her motorcycle
(John Woo style), sat on it, and started it up and SPEED OFF down the horizon
into the MOONSET.
DISSOLVE TO.
EXT. SKY – AFTERNOON
In the sky, an aircraft is FLYING toward a
giant floating piece of land in the sky.
It looks as if it has been dug out of the soil and
suspended in the air like a hot air balloon. This is the FLOATING ISLAND.
INT. AIRCRAFT
Inside of the aircraft, a green hedgehog
named MANIC is behind the controls.
Behind him are his siblings a blue hedgehog named
SONIC and a pink hedgehog named SONIA.
Sonia is TWIRLING her hair NERVOUSLY.
Manic NOTICED this.
MANIC
Hang loose, Sonia. It's just a rumor.
SONIA
Duh! But what if mother really is here?
SONIC
(angrily)
She'd better be! I missed the opening of a new chili-dog stand for this!
EXT. FLOATING ISLAND
The aircraft made a SOFT LANDING in the
middle of a forest full of space. Sonic
and Sonia walk down form an extended platform.
SONIC
THIS is the dreaded Floating Island?
(sarcastically)
Oooh, I'm scared!
SONIA
Sonic! Remember what the Oracle said. "The Floating Island is fraught with
danger. Beware the echidna."
SONIC
Fraught? What
kind of a stupid word is that?
SONIA
Fraught means filled, as in filled with
danger.
SONIC
What danger? If you're so 'fraught', I'll check this place out!
SONIA
(annoyed)
SONIC!
Manic walks down from the ship. Sonic SPINS like a tornado and sets off
behind two bushes. Instantly, they hear
a SNAG!
SONIC (O.S.)
AHHHH!
ON SONIA AND MANIC
The two hedgehogs RUN to see what
happened. They run to an empty area and they LOOK UP. PAN UP
to see Sonic caught in a dangling net.
MANIC
Just hanging out, bro?
SONIA
Like I said, fraught with
danger.
ON SONIC
SONIC
Danger? You
mean this nifty hammock?
Sonic tries to LAY BACK in it like a hammock.
ON SONIA AND MANIC
Neither one are convinced.
MANIC
We'll call this: Echidna 1, Hedgehog 0.
BLACK OUT.
