ACT TWO
FADE IN:
We see Sleet and Dingo above a fire, on a
rotating spit. In the CORNER is a
SILHOUETTE of a RED ECHIDNA. He WALKS to
the two on the rotating pit. PAN UP to
see his face, showing that this echidna is KNUCKLES THE ECHIDNA. HE speaks in a deep voice.
KNUCKLES
You wolf-faces should have stayed home. Now you get to be dinner.
DINGO
You're... gonna eat us?
KNUCKLES
No.
The two exhales with relief.
SLEET / DINGO
Good / Ahh, phew!
CLOSE ON KNUCKLES
Knuckles WHISTLES. Then, a DINOSAUR BEAST-THING named CHOMPS
appears.
KNUCKLES
But Chomps will.
ON ALL THREE
SLEET
You've got us all wrong, Mr.
"Knuckles", we are your friends.
KNUCKLES
Of course.
All my friends sneak onto my island!
(angrily)
I DON'T THINK SO!
SLEET
No, you don't understand, we're here to stop
the real invaders. Three hedgehogs, I
can prove it.
KNUCKLES
How?
SLEET
Look in my pocket.
Knuckles stops the rotating spit with Dingo
towards the flames. He REACHES in
Sleet’s bag and pulled out a HOLO-PROJECTOR.
SLEET
Press that button.
Dingo, toward the flames, is starting to
SWEAT.
DINGO
Er, Sleet.
SLEET
(to Dingo)
SHUT UP!
(to Knuckles)
The red button!
DINGO
SLEET!
SLEET
(to Dingo)
Put a cork in it, Ding-face!
(to Knuckles)

ON KNUCKLES
Knuckles plays a video showing Sonic, Sonia
& Manic with obviously faked voices.
FAKE SONIC
(monotone voice)
Gotta cruise dudes. We gotta find that Chaos Emerald before that
dopey defender Knuckles gets us.
FAKE SONIA
(monotone voice)
You are not often right older brother, but on
this occasion, I agree. Come, Manic.
FAKE MANIC
(monotone voice)
We are more clever than that dumb Knuckles

ON SLEET AND DINGO

SLEET
Mr. Knuckles, we're getting a little warm
here... if you don't mind.
ON KNUCKLES
Knuckles TURNS OFF the communicator and
throws a RAGE FIT.
KNUCKLES
Those hedgehogs want the emerald, do they? Well, they'll have to get past me!
(to Sleet & Dingo, off the fire)
All right you wolf-faces are free to go, this
time, but you must leave the island now!
SLEET
An amiable deal, my friend. We will be off the island faster than you can
say “Sonic the Hedgehog.”
Knuckles’ pet dinosaur, Chomps, STOPS right
next to Knuckles, with a face that is begging for food like a dog would.
KNUCKLES
Sorry, Chomps, but cheer up. I hear hedgehogs have just come into season.
Knuckles LEAVES. Then, Chomps approaches Sleet and Dingo.
DINGO
Er... nice doggie.
Dingo tried to grab the projector that Knuckles
dropped, but they instantly RUN.
SLEET
Outta here!
Chomps scares Sleet and Dingo away.
ON CHOMPS
Chomps then EATS the projector. Then the video comes out of his nose.
FAKE SONIC
(monotone)
Gotta find that Chaos Emerald—
(video scratches)

Find that Chaos-Chaos-Chaos...
CUT TO:
INT. SPIRITUAL ROOM – CAVE
Knuckles ENTERS the room. Inside are a bunch of martial arts weapons,
trophies, belts, patches, and photographs all on display.
KNUCKLES
Never thought I’d have to use any of this.
Knuckles WALKED to a display case full of
DAGGERS, KAMAS, and a pair of
KNUCKLES’ P.O.V.
We see a photograph of Knuckles standing in
an arena, wearing a white robe with a black belt. A banner is held above his head titled
“Floating Island Jeek Kune Do Federation.”
ON KNUCKLES
Knuckles SMILED at that photograph.
KNUCKLES
I can’t believe it has been a year since I
got my 5th Dan. Well, better
make the most of it.
Knuckles GOT UP. He walked to a wall, TAPPED it, and a SECRET
DOOR opened. Knuckles WALKED DOWN that
open door. It then CLOSED.
WIPE TO:
Aleena DROVE her motorcycle through a valley. Soon, the STOPS and GETS OFF. She parked her motorcycle by a tree and SAT
DOWN by the tree.
CLOSE ON ALEENA
Aleena REMOVED her helmet and set it
down. She REACHED in her bag, pulled out
a radio, and TURNED IT ON.
ALEENA
(in radio)
Tails, this is Aleena.
TAILS (O.S.)
(from radio - static)
Go ahead.
ALEENA
(in radio)
I got the disc.
TAILS (O.S.)
(from radio - static)
Good job.
You know, it was tough getting you on the island without letting
Knuckles see you.
ALEENA
(in radio)
I know.
I’m sorry for making you go through all that trouble.
TAILS (O.S.)
(from radio - static)
No, no, it’s okay. We had to find some way to get you on. The Oracle needs that data.
ALEENA
(in radio)
Understood.
I’ll see if I can analyze the data myself. See what’s on it.
TAILS (O.S.)

Okay, be careful not to mess with anything.
ALEENA

Sure thing.
Aleena LOWERED the radio microphone from her
mouth and REACHED in her bag again. She
pulled out the data disc and SLID IT into a drive in the radio.
ALEENA

Okay, it’s in. How does it look?
TAILS (O.S.)

ALEENA
(in radio)
Take your time.
After a few seconds, Tails buzzed in again.
TAILS (O.S.)

Sorry, Aleena, everything didn’t go through.
ALEENA
(in radio)
What’s wrong?
TAILS (O.S.)

Your location. I’m picking up heavy static in your area.
ALEENA

Aleena SHIFTED her eyes everywhere.

SWAT Bots.
TAILS (O.S.)

Uh, you need to get higher!
ALEENA

Aleena HUNG UP the radio.
WIDER
Aleena LOOKED AROUND and saw FOUR SWAT Bots
surrounding her.
ON ALEENA
Aleena stood up and GRINNED.
SWAT BOT
Surrender the disc.
ALEENA
What disc?
Oh, you mean—
(removes disc from drive)
THIS disc?
The SWAT Bot drew closer.
ALEENA (CONT’D)
Well, if you want it, you’ll have to take it.
ON ALEENA AND SWAT BOT
Aleena GRABBED the SWAT Bots reaching arm,
TWISTED it, and THREW it over her shoulder!
WIDER
Another bot came running toward her. Aleena simply GRABBED its arm and TOSSED him
to another SWAT Bot.
ALEENA (CONT’D)
Come on!
Come on! Is that the best you got?
ANOTHER ANGLE
Suddenly, five more SWAT Bots appeared behind
Aleena. Aleena TURNED to look at them.
ALEENA (CONT’D)
More playmates. I am pleased.
The SWAT Bots CHARGED at her.
CUT TO:
Knuckles WONDERED the caves underneath the
island.
KNUCKLES
If those three hedgehogs have a change
against to me get my emerald, they have another thing coming.
He continues walking down the cave. Then, he STOPS. Silently he listens as FOOTSTEPS ECHO above
head. Knuckles LOOKS up.
KNUCKLES (CONT’D)
All right, hedgehog, here I come.
Knuckles REACHED behind him and pulled out a
C4 block. With his other hand, he KNOCKS
the ceiling in small places. Then he
NODS and STICKS the C4 to the cave ceiling.
KNUCKLES (CONT’D)
Here we go.
Knuckles REMOVES the pin from the C4 and
DASHES off.
ANGLE ON C4 BLOCK
A timer starts beeping, with only one minute
until detonation!
WIPE TO:
EXT. JUNGLE – FLOATING
Sonic, Sonia, and Manic are ROAMING through
the jungles of the Floating Island.
Suddenly, Sonia STOPPED.
SONIA
Shh! I'm getting a feeling
(pause)
like there's something close by.
SONIC
(sarcastically)
Oh, big whoop! We're following your feelings around? Boy, it just doesn't get any better than this.
As Sonic spoke, Sonia WANDERED behind some
trees.
SONIA (O.S.)
Hey guys, look at this. A sacred pool! I read about these.
The three walk to a small circular section of
light-blue water imbedded in the ground.
All of a sudden, the water ERUPTS from the basin.
SONIC
We're talking some serious special effects.
SONIA
I can't believe it really exists
Manic walks to it and tried to TOUCH IT.
SONIA (CONT’D)
Manic! Don't!
Manic stopped himself in time.
MANIC
What?
SONIA
I see something forming.
In the geyser, they see a form of Queen
Aleena performing her BLACK BELT MOVES on the SWAT Bots around her.
MANIC
Mom!
SONIA
She's here! I knew it!
MANIC
And look at her fight.
SONIC
Wow, looks like you were right, Sonia.
SONIA
You're saying I'm right? Manic, you're a witness.
All of a sudden, the soil BREAKS OPEN like an
earthquake!
ANGLE ON CRACK
Knuckles the Echidna JUMPS out of the crack
like an Olympic athlete.
ON HEDGEHOGS
The three hedgehogs look up to see Knuckles
standing above them.
MANIC
What's happening? Whoa, dude, you nailed that landing. I give it a 10.
ON KNUCKLES
KNUCKLES
Hedgehog thieves!
WIDE ON ALL
SONIC
Not exactly the welcome mat we expected.
Sonia DUSTED the dirt off her skirt.
SONIA
Look at this! You'd better have a real good dry-cleaners on this
rock!
KNUCKLES
You came here to steal the Emerald, but I'll
stop you.
SONIC
Chill, fella, we're not thieves.
(Manic looks at Sonic)
Well, mostly we're not. Anyway—
Knuckles PULLS OUT a set of knives. He stands in a fighting stance. After a second of staring, Knuckles LUNGES at
Sonic, waving the knives around.
ON SONIC
Sonic drops and falls back, avoiding the
slashes of the quick blades.
SONIC
(sarcastically)
Nice to meet you too.
KNUCKLES
I hate thieves!
SONIA
Sonic? Are you alright?
MANIC
Boy, that guy's good.
SONIC
What are you, nuts? ‘Cause if you're thinking of starting a fan club,
Manic—
Knuckles LUNGES toward the three again.
SONIC (CONT’D)
Here comes your hero!
