ACT THREE
FADE IN:
EXT. JUNGLES – FLOATING ISLAND - AFTERNOON
Knuckles SLASHES at the three hedgehogs, but
they all JUMP out of the way.
SONIC
Okay, Knuckle-boy, if that's the way you want
to play it, let's get basic!
Sonic started running to Knuckles, but Sonia
STEPPED in his way.
SONIA
Sonic, wait! Maybe we can reason with him.
SONIC
(sarcastically)
Good idea sis.
(pause)
NOT! Here's
a taste of the Super Sonic Triple-spin, pal!
Knuckles CHARGES at Sonic, but Sonic does his
famous TRIPLE-SPIN on Knuckles, causing shock waves to knock both of them back.
ON SONIC
Sonia and Manic help Sonic up.
SONIC
You guys can jump in here any time, y'know.
MANIC
Aw, we knew you had it covered.
SONIA
This time, we're gonna reason with him.
The three look over to see that Knuckles is
GONE.
SONIA (CONT’D)
Where'd he go?
SONIC
Guess Super-spin was a little too much for
him.
Knuckles APPEARS again.
MANIC
(sarcastically)
I would bet... not!
Knuckles CHARGED at the hedgehog again.
SONIA
Listen, echidna-guy, we aren't here to steal
anything! We're here to find Queen
Aleena!
Before Sonia could finish, Knuckles DOVE into
the ground and disappeared.
MANIC
Whoa, maybe that worked.
All of a sudden, the ground under them
RUMBLED.
SONIC
Hey, sis, what are your feelings telling you
now?
SONIA
That we'd better... leave!
The three RAN away and Knuckles BURST through
the ground.
KNUCKLES
You're lying!
ON HEDGEHOGS
The three hedgehogs STOPPED and stared at
Knuckles.
SONIC
I'll handle this.
SONIA
(sarcastically)
Sure, why not? You've done such a superb job so far.
WIDER
Sonic uses his spin attack to disorientate
Knuckles, but Knuckles LEAPS out of the way.
SONIC
One more time!
Sonic does his spin attack again, but
Knuckles avoids it by digging in the ground.
SONIC (CONT’D)
(shouting down)
Come back and fight, Knuckle-butt!
KNUCKLES (O.S.)
(shouting up)
Lying Hedgehogs! Thieves!
ANGLE ON SONIA AND MANIC
The two hedgehogs are getting PEEVED. Knuckles POPS UP from the ground behind the
two.
SONIA
Okay! I've had enough!
Sonia activates her synthesizer-laser. She TURNS, AIMS at a tree above Knuckles, and
SHOOT it.
ON KNUCKLES
Knuckles FLIPS out of the way, avoiding the
drop of the heavy branch. Out of the
blue, Manic GRABS Knuckles from behind and holds him in a headlock.
KNUCKLES
Hey, get off me, hedgehog!
Knuckles SWINGS around, but Manic keeps his
grip.
Knuckles tries to fight Manic off. PAN TO Knuckles’ hand. Knuckles reaches for a
WIDER
Knuckles SLASHES the
SLOW MOTION
While Manic is spinning in the air, Knuckles
JUMPED up and SPIN KICKED Manic in the face!
REGULAR MOTION
Manic flipped back and tumbled over on the
ground.
ON SONIA
Sonia CHARGED toward Knuckles.
SONIA
Hey, don’t hurt my brothers!
ON KNUCKLES AND SONIA
Sonia also jumped and did a SPIN KICK, but
Knuckles easily dodged it! Knuckles then
got low and spun his leg under Sonia, causing her to fall on her back.
KNUCKLES
Get off my island!
Sonia KICKED her legs up in an arch and
stared at Knuckles.
SONIA
Make us.
Knuckles and Sonia CHARGED at each other
again, throwing many punches and kicks, all blocked, at a rapid speed. Soon, the two SPUN away from each other and
stared at each other.
KNUCKLES
(panting)
You’re good.
Sonia, while panting, GRINNED. She then held out one of Knuckles’
knives. This SHOCKED Knuckles.
SONIA
A little too good.
ANGLE ON SONIC
Sonic stares in amazement.
SONIC
I’m jealous.
ON SONIA AND KNUCKLES
After a brief stare, Sonia CHARGED at
Knuckles with the knife. Knuckles
blocked all her attacks and Sonia blocked all of his.
ON MANIC
Manic SWUNG his leg under Knuckles’ legs, but
Knuckles jumped. Quickly, Manic did it
again, but Knuckles jumped again.
Finally, Manic, still swinging his leg, got up and swung toward
Knuckles’ hip.
ON MANIC AND KNUCKLES
Knuckles GRABBED Manic’s foot with both
hands. Manic SNARLED, JUMPED, and SWUNG
his other leg across Knuckles’ face. The
two fall on their backs.
ON KNUCKLES
Knuckles SWUNG his legs around in a
horizontal circle and got back up.
ON MANIC
Manic KICKED his legs up in an arch and stood
up.
WIDE ON ALL THREE
Sonia, Manic, and Knuckles stared at each
other silently. Not one muscle flinched.
ON SONIC
Sonic stood there tapping his foot.
SONIC
You guys are boring me out.
He started do his TRIPLE SPIN toward Knuckles
again.
ON KNUCKLES
Knuckles simply WAVED his arm, catching Sonic
in it, and THREW him to the ground, all just moving his arm and not the rest of
his body.
SONIC
Oof!
Where didya learn this stuff?
Sonic stood up and backed off.
ON ALL THREE
The three still stared at each other, without
moving a muscle.
CLOSE UP OF KNUCKLES
Knuckles SHIFTED his eyes to his left.
ON SONIA AND MANIC
The two hedgehogs CHARGED at Knuckles.
WIDER
With Knuckles off-guard, he quickly FLIPPED
himself backward and behind a tree trunk.
Manic and Sonia fell to the empty ground.
ON KNUCKLES
Knuckles pulled out his knife and CUT a rope.
ON SONIA AND MANIC
The ground under the two hedgehogs OPENED
up. Instantly, they fell.
ON SONIC
SONIC
Hang on guys! Here I—
A piece of the ground OPENED under Sonic.
SONIC (CONT’D)
Waaaah!
Then Sonic falls into another trap, and
barely saves himself by grabbing onto the edge of the pit.
SONIC (CONT’D)
Yes!
(sees Knuckles above him)
No.
Knuckles breaks the tip of soil, which Sonic
is holding on to, then Sonic falls down the pit.
KNUCKLES
Goodbye, hedgehogs.
ON SONIC
Sonic fell SCREAMING down the pit. Finally, he GRIPS onto the edges of the chute
he is in. He looks down below him to see
a pit with an open metal lid on the top, which he was supposed to fall in. Sonic GRINS and shut it closed.
SONIC
That's it! You're toast, Knuckle-head! Outta here!
Sonic SPEEDS up the chute.
CUT TO:
Aleena ZOOMS by on her motorcycle! Following her are FIVE SWAT Bots.
ALEENA
(to self)
Sometimes I hate this job.
(out loud)
Come on!
Come and get me!
She SPEEDS OFF, with the SWAT Bots chasing
her.
CUT TO:
Sleet and Dingo are wondering the caves
underneath.
SLEET
That echidna is even dumber than you, Dingo.
DINGO
Thank you.
SLEET
Then again, maybe not. I bet those hedgehogs are history by now!
The two comes to a dead end. Their path is blocked by a river.
SLEET (CONT’D)
Come on, we have to go down the river to get
to the emerald.
DINGO
In what?
Sleet PULLS OUT his remote and transforms
Dingo into a boat. He pushes it into the
water and PADDLES his way down.
DINGO
(burbling)
I HAD to ask.
CUT TO:
INT. PIT
Elsewhere in an underground cave, Sonia and
Manic try to escape by using the Synthesizer-laser. Sonia tries shooting the ceiling cover, but
it does not budge.
SONIA
This doesn't look promising.
Sonia then shoots another door right next to
them. After a second, the turns it off,
leaving the two in darkness.
MANIC (O.S.)
Guess we'll have to wait for Sonic.
Sonia ACTIVATES her laser again, emitting
light in the pit.
SONIA
Guess again!
Sonia constantly shoots the metal door.
CUT TO:
EXT. JUNGLE
Sonic CLIMBS out of the pit he fell in. He then RAN to the hole, which Sonia and
Manic fell in.
SONIC
This is the place... Whoa... Helloooooo... Here
goes nothing.
Sonic is ready to jump in, but he heard
Knuckles behind him.
KNUCKLES (O.S.)
Hedgehog!
Sonic TURNED and Knuckles COMES INTO
FRAME. Knuckles CRACKS his knuckles.
SONIC
That's gotta hurt!
Knuckles LUNGES an attack on Sonic, but Sonic
JUMPS out of the way.
SONIC (CONT’D)
Whoa, you're way too excited!
Knuckles LUNGES at Sonic again, and Sonic
JUMPED again.
SONIC (CONT’D)
Obviously you haven't heard about the famous
hedgehog's speed. Okay, take your best
shot!
Sonic RUNS and Knuckles GIVES CHASE. Even for Knuckles, he has pretty fast speed
as well.
CUT TO:
INT. PIT
Sonia SHOT the door so much that it started
CRACKING and BENDING. Sonia STOPPED.
SONIA
That should do it.
Manic KICKS down the door like a police
officer entering a home. The two look at
a green cave, similar to the one that Sleet and Dingo were in earlier.
MANIC
Crashing!
The two STEP out, only for Sonia to step in a
footprint.
SONIA
Huh?
Someone’s been here.
MANIC
It does look very recent.
SONIA
We’re not alone.
The two CAUTIOUSLY trek off.
CUT TO:
EXT. FLOATING ISLAND
Sonic & Knuckles are in a personal
race. Then, Knuckles STOPPED.
KNUCKLES
Now you're mine hedgehog!
ON SONIC
Sonic escapes all the traps Knuckles is
setting off. Finally, Sonic STOPS and
stares up at Sonic, who is on a ledge above him.
SONIC
Come on, you can do better than that,
Knuckle-brain!
Sonic started running again. Knuckles gave chase, but Sonic STOPPED.
SONIC (CONT’D)
We're not done yet pal, you're taking me to
Sonia and Manic!
CUT TO:
Sonia and Manic are still wondering the cave.
MANIC
Rippin' glow.
SONIA
Are you kidding? This light does nothing for my complexion.
(notices a river)
Oh, how beautiful!
MANIC
Yeah.
Then they heard a stopping sound behind them.
SONIC
Huh? What's
that noise?
The two SPIN on their heels and get in their
fighting stances. Sonia draws out the
knife she stole from Knuckles.
ANOTHER ANGLE
Chomps appears in the cave right in front of
the two hedgehogs. He GROANS and the
video starts playing.
FAKE SONIC
(monotone voice)
We gotta find that Chaos Emerald before that
dopey defender Knuckles gets us.
FAKE SONIA
(monotone voice)
You are not often—
(static)
right... older—
(deeper voice)
brother, but on... on this—
The video goes to STATIC.
WIDER
Chomps LAYS on his back, holding his stomach
in pain.
SONIA
(to camera)
Now there's something you don't see every
day.
CUT TO:
EXT. FLOATING ISLAND - BRIDGE
Knuckles crosses a bridge with holes in it,
and waits for Sonic at the end. Sonic
ARRIVES at the other end of the bridge.
SONIC
Hmm, that first step's a real trip.
Sonic slowly steps through the bridge. By the time he gets to the middle, he STOPS
and sees Knuckles ahead of him.
KNUCKLES
Hey hedgehog, can you fly?
SONIC
(shocked)
Huh?
Knuckles then uses his fist to BREAK the
bridge.
ON SONIC
The cracks form around Sonic, ready to drop
him.
SONIC
Bummer Majoris!
FADE OUT.
