ACT TWO
FADE IN:
EXT. TOP OF CLIFF
Up above, Sonic heard everything Robotnik
said.
SONIC
We'll see about that, 'Buttnik.
He carefully slid himself down the side of
the cliff, and hid behind a large rock, all while spying on Robotnik and his
scheme.
ANGLE ON ROBOTNIK
Robotnik pointed at a large oak.
ROBOTNIK
(in radio)
Unit One, take down that tree first. That's
the area where I can set up my own personal lounge.
A tank rolled up to the tree, raising its
buzz-saw attached to its roof, then sliding it across the large tree all the
way through.
ANGLE ON TREE
When it reached the other end, the tree
wobbled, then leaned over, falling down towards the giant rock Sonic was hiding
behind.
ANGLE ON SONIC
Sonic just happened to notice this. As it
neared, he jumped to the side to avoid behind crushed. He made it just in time.
ANOTHER ANGLE
Just then, a red laser dot was pointed at
him. Sonic looked up to see a SWAT Bot over him.
SWAT BOT
Halt.
Sonic stared up at him.
SONIC
(stammering)
Uh, hi! Just sight-seeing!
ANGLE ON ROBOTNIK
Robotnik turned to see what was going on. He
noticed Sonic!
ROBOTNIK
Hedgehog!
SONIC
The one and only!
Sonic started getting into a sonic-spin, and
hurling himself into the SWAT Bot.
ANOTHER ANGLE
He zipped around Robotnik and then forward,
where he suddenly came to an abrupt stop. There was another Tank Unit in front
of him, lowering it's buzz-saw just below the hedgehog's head. Robotnik
laughed.
ROBOTNIK (O.S.)
You're not the only one that can spin,
hedgehog! SWAT Bots! Surround and capture!
The SWAT Bots circled Sonic, preventing any
escape for the blue hero. Robotnik strolled over to Sonic.
ROBOTNIK
Come to right my wrongs?
Sonic growled in response.
SONIC
Oh, pish posh. That kind of behavior will get
you no where, you royal pain.
Robotnik leaned forward to be eye-level with
Sonic.
ROBOTNIK
You AND the Resistance are nothing more than
just whiny children who can't have their way.
SONIC
Shows how much you know, Eggbelly!
Sonic reached for his medallion. In response,
the SWAT Bots grabbed his arms.
ROBOTNIK
Oh, and I suppose you're going to save the
day with this little toy, child?
Robotnik hissed, snapping the medallion off
the string.
SONIC
HEY!
ROBOTNIK
Protest all you want, hedgehog. Either way,
you're not on the winning team. SWAT Bots, take him in.
The SWAT Bots picked up Sonic, and carried
him off to Robotnik's ship. With nothing left to do, Sonic groaned.
SONIC
Bummer majoris.
DISSOLVE TO.
INT. PRISON CELL
Inside the prison cell are Aleena and Tails,
both with their wrists chained to the ceiling. Tails tried fumbling around with
one of his shackles, then quit. Aleena rolled her eyes.
ALEENA
Protest all you want, Tails. Either way,
we’re not on the winning team.
TAILS
I said I was sorry.
ALEENA
Sorry ain’t getting us out of this place!
Aleena shook her shackles, but nothing.
TAILS
Well, try to look on the bright side.
Aleena looked around and noticed they’re
still in a prison cell.
ALEENA
Care to explain WHAT kind of bright side you
see?
TAILS
Well, Robotnik could have killed us right
there at the hanger. Right?
Tails grinned, hoping it would work. All of a
sudden, Aleena shook her entire body with pure rage!
ALEENA
(yelling)
Look at us, Tails! We’re good as dead!
Even though Aleena cannot break free, she
still continued to try to get to Tails.
TAILS
Oh, you want a piece of me? Bring yourself
on!
Aleena stopped and sighed angrily.
TAILS
What?
ALEENA
You’re doing that again.
TAILS
Doing what?
ALEENA
You think you’re in a movie. Just be simple
and get what you need. Your stupidity brought us here!
TAILS
I can only say sorry so many times.
Aleena banged her foot on the floor, causing
it to make a loud noise.
ALEENA
Well, say it again anyway!
TAILS
Sorry.
Aleena sighed.
ALEENA
Yeah, everybody’s sorry. I’m sorry for having
to separate my children. I’m sorry for Robotnik creating such messes, thus resulting
in us not having to get in this mess!
WIPE TO:
EXT. CYRUS’ WORKSHOP - MORNING
Cyrus looked up to see a motorcycle and a
hover board, both occupying hedgehog riders, slow to a stop in front of him.
CYRUS
Hey guys!
The two got off their vehicles. He reached
over and held a rolled up paper to Manic.
CYRUS (CONT’D)
This is a copy of Robotnik's latest plans. It
seems he's gonna destroy a whole forest to make a—
SONIA
(interrupting)
Have you seen Sonic?
Sonia's sudden question stopped Cyrus in his
words.
CYRUS
Sonic? Uh, no. Not since he came for the
plans and accidentally left with Sleet and Dingo's vacation forms.
Sonia moaned, worried.
SONIA
Ohh, he's be gone for a long time. We can't
find him anywhere.
CYRUS
Don't worry, I'm sure he'll show up sometime.
In the meantime—
He handed the plans to Manic.
CYRUS (CONT’D)
Check out these plans. They're very
important.
Manic unrolled the plans as he and Sonia
looked them over.
SONIA
Oh my gosh! A local Robotization Factory?!
CYRUS
And to make it worse, he's gonna tear up the
entire
SONIA
This is terrible! We have to stop him!
MANIC
Yeah, but what about Sonic?
SONIA
We'll look for Sonic later.
Sonia hopped onto her motorcycle.
SONIA (CONT’D)
This is important! Thanks, Cyrus!
Manic placed the plans in his fanny pack,
jumped on his hover board, and he and Sonia were off.
CUT TO:
INT. PRISON CELL
Aleena still looks angry and Tails is
brawling.
TAILS
We’re gonna die!
ALEENA
Shut up!
Tails looked over Aleena.
TAILS
Any ideas?
ALEENA
I’m working on it, I’m working on it.
Aleena looked down and noticed the little
dent she made in the floor.
ALEENA
I got an idea.
TAILS
Yeah?
ALEENA
Hang on a second. I’m going to create a lot
of noise!
TAILS
What are you doing?
ALEENA
Just do what I do.
Aleena lifted herself off the ground and
started kicking the ceiling with her feet. She could easily make dents.
TAILS
What are you doing?
ALEENA
The steel in this room is very thin. Kick it!
TAILS
Okay.
Tails kicked his feet up in a fancy style...
and completely missed the ceiling.
ALEENA
Tails... be simple.
TAILS
Okay, okay!
Tails kicked his feet up and dented the
ceiling.
ALEENA
See? Wasn’t that easy.
The two continued kicking the ceiling, making
dents around where they are chained.
WIPE TO:
Meanwhile, Sonia and Manic’s vehicles, hover
board and motorcycle, are parked behind a few trees. The two cover them in
brush.
SONIA
At this point, we have to be quiet and slow.
MANIC
If Sonic were here, he’d freak out and go on
ahead.
Sonia laughed at that.
SONIA
Yeah. He may be a pain when it comes to his
ego, but what else can you do except love him?
Manic looked sinister for a second.
MANIC
We could steal from him.
Sonia playfully hit Manic’s shoulder. The two
chuckled a bit. Then, Sonia’s eye caught something.
SONIA
What’s that?
MANIC
What’s what?
Sonia ran to a side of a tree and noticed
scratch marks on the trunk.
SONIA
Manic! Look at this!
Manic rushed over and noticed the scratches.
MANIC
Sonia, they’re just scratches in a tree. You
see millions of them.
SONIA
No, Manic, look closer.
Manic shrugged and peered deep into
scratches.
MANIC’S P.O.V.
Manic can clearly see tiny blue furs imbedded
into the trunk.
MANIC (O.S.)
Wait, I see it!
ANGLE ON SONIA AND MANIC
Manic looked back up at Sonia.
MANIC
Sonic’s been around here.
SONIA
Yeah, but where?
Manic looked down.
MANIC
Hey, look!
Manic bent down, as well as Sonia. Manic
pointed to the ground and noticed all the sneaker prints.
SONIA
Sonic. He’s been here.
MANIC
This far from Robotropolic?
SONIA
And not a chilidog drop in sight.
MANIC
I hope we didn’t scare him off too much.
SONIA
I sure hope not.
The two got up.
SONIA
Come on, let’s go.
The two ran, following Sonic’s foot prints.
CUT TO:
INT. PRISON CELL
The cell door opened and two SWAT Bots walked
in. The two stopped and stood in shock.
SWAT BOT’S P.O.V.
The two shackles are dangling from the
ceiling with no one restrained to them.
ANGLE ON SWAT BOTS
The two walked in deeper to examine the
shackles. All of a sudden, Aleena and Tails pounced on the two!
WIDE SHOT
The two bots fell down, while Tails and
Aleena stood up. The bots got up. One began to aim its laser gun at Tails, but
he did a SPIN-KICK and knocked it out of the bots hands.
ANGLE ON ALEENA
The Bot ran to her, but she grabbed its arm,
flipped it, grabbed its leg, and flipped him over.
ANGLE ON TAILS
Tails grabbed the Bots hand, twisted him, and
flipped it over.
WIDE SHOT
Aleena and Tails stood over the broken SWAT
Bot bodies.
ALEENA
See? Simple.
Tails exhaled a breath of air like an athlete
after performing a sprint.
TAILS
Yeah. You were right.
Aleena glared at Tails with a smirk.
TAILS
As usual.
ALEENA
Yup. Of course. Now, let’s get out of here.
TAILS
What about the disc?
ALEENA
That’s what we’re going to get. I overheard
Robotnik saying it’s in the cockpit.
Tails and Aleena picked up the SWAT Bots
laser rifles, ran out of the cell, and down a hall.
DEEPER IN THE HALL
The two made a quick turn and looked out the
window.
ALEENA & TAILS’ P.O.V.’s
Tails and Aleena see the lead vehicle up
ahead.
TAILS (O.S.)
I see it.
ANGLE ON TAILS AND ALEENA
ALEENA
It’s too bright outside. We’ll be seen
easily.
Tails looked over and noticed some brush and
fallen trees.
TAILS
Aleena, look, if we could sneak through those
fallen trees, we could get passed unnoticed.
ALEENA
Tails, forget it. That would be very
dangerous.
TAILS
Not if I do it correctly.
Aleena looked at Tails confused.
TAILS
No movie stunts, no action sequences, none of
that. I’ll do it right and correct from the get go.
Aleena looked at Tails for a moment.
ALEENA
You promise?
TAILS
Would I lie?
ALEENA
Most ten-year-olds do. You’re really acting
too much like one.
Tails glared.
TAILS
Again, I AM a ten-year-old. Come on. It’s
worth it.
Aleena thought for a moment.
ALEENA
Well, okay. But be safe and be careful. I’ll
be right behind you.
TAILS
Right. You won’t regret this.
ALEENA
(under breath)
I sure hope not.
The two got up to head to the hatches. In the
hall, blocking their way, are three SWAT Bots.
SWAT BOT
Halt, stay where you are.
TAILS
Aleena.
ALEENA
Yes?
TAILS
You got the left one, I’ll take righty.
ALEENA
Okay!
Instantly, the two leaped forward to the SWAT
Bots. Aleena BENT the SWAT Bot’s arm and flipped it backward. She spun on her
heel and swung her leg under the middle Bot, causing it to fall on its back.
ANGLE ON TAILS
Tails kicked the laser rifle from the Bot’s
hands, grabbed a hold of it, used the rifle to hook the Bot’s arm, and flipped
it over.
WIDER
Tails flipped the Bot on the grounded Bot.
ANGLE ON ALEENA
Aleena slashed the side of her palm across
the Bot’s neck, shutting it down. (S.B. Note: A SWAT Bot’s shutdown switch is
imbedded in its front neck.)
TAILS
Come on, let’s go.
Aleena and Tails dragged the SWAT Bots, one
by one, into their close-by empty prison cell. They stepped out and locked the
door.
WIDER
Once locked, they dashed down the hall and
towards the hatches at the end of the hall.
FADE OUT.
