ACT FOUR

FADE IN:

INT. ROBOTNIK’S SHIP – LATE AT NIGHT

In his ship, Robotnik furiously flew back to Robotropolis.

ROBOTNIK
Grrr... I hate hedgehogs!

All of a sudden, Robotnik heard a gun click from behind his head. He fearfully shifted his eyes behind him.

ANGLE ON ALEENA AND ROBOTNIK

Aleena is smirking as she holds a laser gun to the back of Robotnik’s head.

ALEENA
Hate is such a strong word, Robotnik. Does that include me?

ROBOTNIK
Queen Aleena? But how did you get away?

ALEENA
I had help from someone who believed he wasn’t in the movies anymore.

Robotnik reached down to hit the alarm. Before his finger made contact with it, a gloved hand grabbed his wrist.

PAN UP to see that the glove belongs to Tails. He smirks at Robotnik and began tightening his grip, digging his finger in Robotnik’s pressure points.

ROBOTNIK
Ow! Ow! Ow!

TAILS
(teasingly)
Aww, does that hurt?

Robotnik nodded his head repeatedly.

ROBOTNIK
Yes! Yes! Very much so!

TAILS
Good.

Tails reached over to the fuse panel. With his free hand, he opened the panel, grabbed some wires with his finger, and yanked them out.

WIDER

Sparks flew out and all of the light in the hovercraft went out, leaving Robotnik in total darkness. The red emergency lights went on.

CLOSER

When Robotnik looked around, he noticed that Aleena and Tails are gone.

ROBOTNIK
(worriedly)
Qu-Qu-Queen Aleena? M-Miles?

He looked back at the shadows behind him. He stared worriedly for a moment. After noticing nothing happening, he sighed in relief.

ROBOTNIK’S P.O.V.

Instantly, the butt of a laser rifle SMACKED Robotnik in the face! STARS filled his vision.

WIDER

Robotnik laid back in his chair with a glaze in his eyes, and some teeth missing. Aleena and Tails stepped out of the shadows.

TAILS
Robotnik, do you honestly think we’d get away from an airborne hovercraft?

Tails and Aleena CHUCKLED.

ALEENA
Where did you learn that?

TAILS
I saw it in a movie.

Aleena glared again.

TAILS
I know, I know. Don’t think too much of it.

Aleena smiled again.

ALEENA
Right. Let’s get the disc and get out of here.

ANGLE ON HARD DRIVE

Tails pressed a button and a small mini data disc ejected from the panel.

WIDER

TAILS
Got it. Let’s get out of here.

ALEENA
What about Robotnik?

TAILS
This hovercraft’s on autopilot.

Tails laughed.

EXT HOVERCRAFT

The hatch opened. Tails and Aleena jumped out and deployed their parachutes.

TAILS
(calling)
Hey, Aleena!

ALEENA
(calling back)
Yeah?

TAILS
If you want, I’ll buy you a pair of night-vision goggles, so you don’t have to carry that flashlight of yours and risk us being noticed.

Aleena smiled.

ALEENA
Thanks, Tails!

Aleena laughed.

ALEENA (CONT’D)
Oh, and Tails!

TAILS
Yeah?

ALEENA
About all those times, yelling at you, and blaming you for getting us captured. I, myself, want to say I’m sorry.

TAILS
Aleena, it’s okay!

ALEENA
No, I should apologize to put us on similar terms. I shouldn’t of had scolded you like that. Forgive me?

TAILS
Well, do you forgive me?

Aleena smiled.

ALEENA
Of course!

TAILS
Forgive and forget. I will take your advice, saying that I’m acting like too much like a ten-year-old.

Aleena laughed harder.

ALEENA
Tails, you ARE a ten-year-old.

WIDER

The two chuckled as they floated their way down.

WIPE TO:

EXT. UNDERGROUND BASE - NIGHT

Sonic returned to the Underground Secret Base, steering clear from the pipelines this time.

INT. UNDERGROUND BASE

He sped inside, skidding to a halt next to Sonia, sitting on the couch.

SONIC
Mail call!

Sonic held up another rolled-up paper.

SONIC (CONT’D)
Cyrus says it's a secret message for us three.

ANOTHER ANGLE

After hearing this announcement, Manic barged into the living room.

WIDER

Sonia stood up.

SONIA
What does it say, Sonic?

ANGLE ON SONIC

Sonic unrolled the paper and looked at it hard.

SONIC
Hm... South Island Palm Beach? This weekend...?

ANGLE ON SONIA

SONIA
(angrily)
Wha?! Not again!

CLOSE ON SONIC

Sonic squinted at the paper.

SONIC
No wait, doesn't say that. Hm... I can't seem to make this out. It appears to have CHILI stains on it.

WIDER

Sonia looks even more angry now.

SONIA
Soooniiic!

Sonic chuckled, and then handed it to Sonia.

SONIC
Just kiddin' sis.

Sonia took it and looked at the clean message, giggling to herself before reading.

ANOTHER ANGLE

She then read in awe.

SONIA
Oh my gosh, it's from mother!

The brothers peeped over each of Sonia's shoulders to read the note.

ZOOM IN ON PAPER

The paper has Aleena’s handwriting on it.

ALEENA (V.O.)
My children, you all did wonderful the other day. Although you may have sibling rivalry, remember to stay together at all times. You're each other's links to the past, and will be the people who will most likely stick with you for the rest of your lives. Keep working together. One day, we will all be reunited. Love, Mother.

ANGLE ON HEDGEHOGS

Sonia wiped a tear from her eye. Sonic noticed this.

SONIC
Aww.

Sonic put an arm around her shoulder.

SONIC (CONT’D)
Group hug!

The three wrapped their arms around each other. Manic chuckled.

MANIC
I love you, guys.

DISSOLVE TO:

INT. ORACLE CAVES

Tails and Aleena stood right in front of the Oracle of Delpheus, who is at a computer.

ALEENA
We got the key, Oracle.

ORACLE
Good job.

The oracle extended his hand. Tails placed the data disc to the Oracle.

ORACLE (CONT’D)
It took you a while to get.

Aleena and Tails sweated.

TAILS
I can answer that. I was acting like a child and I got us compromised.

The Oracle nodded.

ORACLE
Right. Movies again, I presume.

Tails nodded.

ORACLE
Letting such events cloud your mind will disrupt you when you need to buckle down and get your job done.

TAILS
I learned that the hard way.

ALEENA
And so did Sonic. He let his emotions of his sister and brother’s hurtful remarks get a hold of him and he ended up in the grasp of Robotnik.

Oracle nodded again.

ORACLE
Looks like everyone has had a life lesson. Just simply forgive... and forget.

TAILS
Exactly. Now, uh, as for the disc.

ORACLE
Right, of course.

The Oracle turned to his computer and slid the disc in the drive.

ANOTHER ANGLE

Aleena and Tails peek over the Oracle’s shoulders.

ALEENA
What does it say?

After a while, the Oracle GASPED!

TAILS
What?

ORACLE
Queen Aleena

(pause)
Miles Tails Prower

(pause)
We are going to have so many problems with what Robotnik is building.

The three looked at the computer screen in fear.

TAILS
Oh my...

ANGLE ON COMPUTER SCREEN

On the screen are diagrams of a machine.

FADE OUT.
