ACT TWO

ANGLE ON MANIC SONIC AND SONIA

Sonic and Sonia stood up.

SONIC

Wow! I can’t believe you did that! I thought you were madder than a chili dog stand without chili! And speaking of chili dogs, I had a—

SONIA

I think we can go on without that weird dream! And I thought you were angry, too, Manic.

MANIC

Hey! That’s what friends and family are there for! Looking out for each other! 

Now, we have to go help her out!

SONIA

Who is he talking about? Wait…

Sonic and Sonia looked at each other.

SONIC/SONIA

OH-NO!

The hedgehogs ran out. Sonic and Sonia grabbed their medallions from the front desk (Robotnik laid them there and forgot them).

EXT-ROBOTROPOLICE-MORNING

ANGLE ON THE TRIPLETS

When outside, the triplets stopped in terror. Robotnik had a portable roboticizer. And just about to go in, was a two-tailed fox! And behind him, the purple hedgehog, Queen Aleena!

SONIC

TAILS!

SONIA

MOM!

MANIC

(extremely angry)

You!

ANGLE ON ROBOTNIK

ROBOTNIK

Oh! Don’t worry. Queen Aleena, or should I say, Aleena, isn’t going in. Yet.

MANIC

What do you mean?

ROBOTNIK

You see, you four are going to spend some quality time together.

SONIC

That’s bad why?

ROBOTNIK

You don’t get it, do you? It—

ALEENA

It’s not time. It would endanger the prophecy if you stay with me too long.

Then, the trio got out their musical weapons.

SONIA

You are SO evil!

ROBOTNIK

Thank you!

Sonia fires a laser from her keyboard/laser gun, missing Robotnik by an inch. Robotnik laughs.

ROBOTNIK

You missed me! What? You have a bad aim? Your family MUST not have played sports! How could you miss me?

(cackles)

SONIA

Well… three things! One, I wasn’t aiming at you! I was aiming at them!

The camera zooms out a small ways to reveal Sleet and Dingo, laying on the 

ground stars above Sleet’s head, and Sonia’s head with hearts above Dingo’s. 

Robotnik looks back, and rolls his eyes.

SONIA (CONT’D)

Two, nobody insults My foster family, and three…

Sonia’s laser gun turns into a normal keyboard. She then plays a mystical sounding tune. The tune made a pink fog. We see a silhouette of Robotnik, and then Sonia’s silhouette. She jumps, and kicks him in the back of the head.

SONIA (CONT’D)

That!

The camera goes to where the trio brought out their instruments, but there, we only see the silhouette of a keyboard, a drum set, (both with none there) and a hedgehog’s. Sonic’s to be exact. He is looking around, trying to see if he can find something. Then camera then goes to just out side the fog, where we see Manic, Tails, and Aleena. Manic is using a lock pick to unlock the handcuffs on them. Currently working on Aleena’s. Once he frees his mom, he works on Tails’. 

Once finished with it, Aleena grabs Tails, and they run off. Aleena waves bye as the two run. Manic waves back, then finds a hammer lying around near someone who appears to be fixing a pick-up truck. When he gets to the roboticizer, he sees Mai standing there.

MAI

Mind if I do the honors?

Manic hands her the big hammer. Mai starts whacking the roboticizer with it. 

When the fog clears up, Manic returns to his drums, and starts playing. He makes an earthquake. He aims it at Robotnik and once he falls, he makes the earthquake turn a little to Sleet, and after he falls in, he aims it at Dingo.

ANGLE ON TRIO

SONIA

Aim it at the girl!

MANIC

WHAT!? Aim it at Mai? Haven’t you learned?

SONIC

No! Manic! Mai’s on Buttnik’s side!

Right after dingo falls, Manic stops drumming. The camera angles on Manic’s eyes. Then it zooms to not an angle, but to where we only see Manic’s eyes, nothing else. He closes them, frustrated. He then gets teary eyes. The camera zooms back out to reveal Sonia’s hand on his shoulder.

MANIC

(very sadly)

Is this true? Are you really on Buttnik’s team, Mai?

MAI

(softly)

Was, Manic. Was.

Just then, a voice said called to the group.

VOICE

RUN!

The camera moved to reveal The Oracle of Delphius. Just then, Manic’s drumsticks started acting up. They raised up, and started banging out of control! The earthquake was aiming right towards the group! Sonic, Sonia and Mai rush to an alley. But Manic stays there, trying to stop his drums.

SONIA

Manic! Run!

MANIC

No! I can’t! I have to stop it!

He tried to grab his drumsticks, but they continue to drum out of control! Then, the drum set falls down, and after that goes Manic! Sonic and the others rush to the scene! They look in to the earth quake, which stopped because it finally caught someone. The camera rolls down to show Manic, hanging on to a small rock ledge. There are so many small rocks falling down the seemingly bottomless pit. Then, Manic falls, but all of a sudden stops in midair! The camera rolls up a small ways to reveal Mai’s hand, holding on to his. She pulls him out. Finally, they all fall on top of each other. The camera goes from the bottom of the pile, slowly making its way to the top. Sonic was on the bottom of pile, then Sonia, then Mai, and on top is Manic.

MANIC

Thanks guys! I thought I was a goner!

They all get up, and the two girls wipe the dirt off them.

SONIA

That’s what friends and family are there for!

SONIC

Yep! Looking out for each other!

ANGLE ON MANIC AND MAI

MANIC

Um. Mai? I’m still a little confused.

MAI

Well. Consider this. If I were on Buttnik’s side, would I of done these? I smashed the roboticizer, helped you out of the earthquake, or call him Buttnik?

MANIC

Well, no I guess.

MAI

So I guess that answers it!

The two hug each other.
