Hmm… this place would be a perfect place!

Manic coughed on someone wealthy looking. Manic took out a handkerchief and wiped her around where he coughed on her (around the neck).

MANIC

Oh! So sorry! Sorry! I’m so clumsy! So sorry! Here lemme help! Sorry! Sorry! Oh!

LADY

Well you better be! I JUST got these clothes today!

When Manic finished, he waited for her leave.

Manic dropped a Ruby necklace into his fanny pack.

Manic had a mischievous smile on his face.

Then, he saw a nice hotel, right on the edge of town. He ran to it, and went in.

MANIC

Excuse me? Like, anyone here?

He heard a teen’s voice coming from the counter.

VOICE

Over here! At the counter!

Manic walked over there.

MANIC

Is there room for me?

ANGLE TO FRONT DESK

A yellow teenage female cat with nice, long, blonde hair with VERY fashionable clothes stood up, banging her head on something. She looked at Manic, rubbing her head. She told him her name was Mai.

MAI

Hello! Oh. We got room for ya! Room 1! And, uh, how many people?

Manic sighed

MANIC

One.

MAI

Something wrong?

MANIC

Oh, nothing.

MAI

Name, please.

MANIC

Manic’s the name. Manic Hedgehog.

Mai wrote it down on a small piece of paper. She handed it to him.

MAI

Here! Put it in your door! Over there!

Mai pointed at a room not too far. Manic walked over there. He slid the paper 

in, and walked in. He soon stuck his head back out.

MANIC

Hey! You serve food? I’m starving!

MAI

Yeah! C’mon over here! We’ve got food.

Manic walks out.

CLOSE UP TO SONIA’S FACE

SONIA

I think we should walk over to that place were the train stopped.

WIDE SHOT OF SONIC AND SONIA

SONIC

(not paying attention)

Uh-huh.

Sonia didn’t notice that Sonic was looking in another direction, not paying 

attention to what Sonia was saying

SONIA (CONT’D)

Sleet said, ‘I knew he couldn’t be trusted as a policeman.’ Manic must’ve been 

with policemen! Meaning with a real policeman, and… DINGO!

SONIC

(while drooling)

Yep.

Sonic walks off, drooling. Sonia doesn’t notice.

SONIA

Come on Sonic!

SONIA

Sonic?

Sonia turns her head to see that Sonic isn’t there.

SONIA’S P.O.V.

Sonia looks all over, then sees Sonic standing in line at a chili dog stand called, “TROOPER’S CHILIDOGS!” Under the name, is the slogan, “PROVEN TO BE MOBIUS’S BEST CHILI DOGS!”

ANGLE ON SONIA

Sonia rolls her eyes.

SONIA

I’ve got a lot of work to do with that slogan!

Manic and Mai were both up there talking.

MAI

You know, later today, a walk would be nice! Maybe around that forest right over there?

MANIC

Yeah! Maybe it could help the stress!

MAI

It’s a deal?

MANIC

You bet!

INT. CURIOUS MEADOWS HOTEL ROOM 1 - NIGHT

Manic’s in his room at the hotel. He was staring out the window.

MANIC’S P.O.V.

Manic was staring at a star that stood out. It was a very shiny star, slightly 

larger than the others. It had four points, and shined like nothing else! Manic 

then, remembering, saw him as a small child, with Farrell.

FARREL

(pointing)

That star is my favorite! Manic, every night if I’m not there, before you go to 

bed, look up at that star. As long as that star’s still shining, my love for you 

will go on.

MANIC

(as a baby)

Star! Pretty! Love!

Just then, Farrell and Baby Manic faded from the sky. Manic turned around, and grabbed his chin, thinking.
