ACT THREE
FADE IN:
EXT. SWAT BOT FACTORY
Sonia had already realized she couldn't get
away from the SWATbot, but still, she kept on running.
ANOTHER ANGLE
After running for a few seconds more, she
suddenly SLID and ended up in a heap of snow. The SWAT Bots started catching up to her, but
she jumped out of the heap and started running again. After a while she slid again. She tried to get up but fell. The SWAT Bots surrounded her closely. She sat up, looking at all of them.
SONIA
Well, this can't be good.
She reluctantly put her hands in the air.
ON SONIA AND SWAT BOT
Right when a SWAT Bot tried to walk over to
pick her up, something SCREECHED behind them and all of the bots turned around
while Sonia quickly got up. One of the
SWAT Bots tried to grab her again but suddenly, the van came racing over the
hill, smashing the crowd of bots that surrounded Sonia.
ANGLE ON VAN
Tails showed up in the door, looking down at
the SWAT Bots.
TAILS
Whoops, that's gonna hurt in the morning.
Sonia JUMPED into the van and they both ran
to the seats.
INT. VAN
Tails SHIFTED into gear.
TAILS
Buckle up, Sonia!
Tails HIT the gas.
EXT. VAN
The van SWERVED away and escaped from the
factory.
WIPE TO.
INT. PRISON CELL – JUST AFTER DAWN
Sonic lay unconscious on the ground. Then his eyes started BLINKING, while moaning
quietly.
MANIC (O.S.)
Bro?
Are you awake?
He noticed Manic sitting beside him. Sonic nodded, bluntly.
SONIC
I am. Man, where are we? And how many elephants ran over my head?
He sat up, rubbing his head.
SLEET (O.S.)
Well, well, well! The hedgehog is awake!
A voice, followed by an evil laugh made both
Sonic and Manic turn around.
ANGLE ON CELL DOOR
Sleet stood in front of the cell they were
in. Sonic felt for his medallion. There was nothing.
SLEET (CONT’D)
Looking for this?
Sleet pulled the medallion out of his pocket.
Sonic groaned.
SONIC
I think my headache just grew.
SLEET
Oh, don't worry, it'll be over as soon as
you're roboticized! After we've got your
sister of course, it'd be much easier if you just told me where Sonia is and get
it over with it at the same.
Sleet FOLDED HIS ARMS.
SONIC
Why don't you just make it easier for
yourself and let us go? You know we'll
escape in the end anyways!
Sonic walked over and leaned against the bars
while looking at Sleet, smirking.
SLEET
Nice try, hedgehog! But not this time, all SWAT Bots are already
out, looking for your sister! They have
no chance! And you don't either... ahh,
what a pity!
Sleet LAUGHED quietly and then, walked away
followed by the SWAT Bots.
ANGLE ON HEDGEHOGS
Manic ran to the bars.
MANIC
You and your lousy SWAT Bots ain't got a
chance against Sonia! Never! NEVER!
I’ll kill you before you even TOUCH HER!
He cried after Sleet and the bots. Sonic looked STUNNED.
SONIC
Manic, bro, what’s up? Take a chill pill, man!
Manic BREATHED out and sat down on the plank
bed.
MANIC
Jeez, sorry.
He rested his head on his hands.
SONIC
Hey, can’t you break the lock? The goons are gone.
Sonic pointed to the lock. Manic SHOOK HIS HEAD.
MANIC
Sleet took my lock breaking tools... every
hairpin.
SONIC
(sarcastically)
Well… this is starting to get good.
WIPE TO.
After driving for a while, Tails and Sonia
finally got out of the city and Tails parked the van, sitting back in his seat.
INT. VAN
Tails LEANED back, exhausted.
SONIA
Tails, shouldn't we get the boys too? I mean, they could already be waiting for us
by the hills.
Tails SHOOK HIS HEAD.
TAILS
They're not, Sonia.
He looked out of the window.
TAILS (CONT’D)
'cuz they're caught.
SONIA
What?!
TAILS
They're caught.
SONIA
SAY WHAT?!
ROBOTNIK GOT THEM?!
Sonia GRABBED Tails by his collar and shook him. Instantly, Tails GRABBED Sonia’s wrists,
FLIPPED Sonia out of the seat, and literally THREW her across the van.
TAILS
(sternly)
Sonia, you know I’m a black belt. Don’t touch me again.
Sonia GOT up, not caring for her pain.
SONIA
Then, we've gotta get them out, but how?
Sonia walked to the front and sat back in her
seat again. She looked at the snow, then,
she SMIRKED.
SONIA (CONT’D)
Those bots, they short circuit if they get
wet, right?
Tails NODDED.
TAILS
Of course, why?
SONIA
Snow is water!
Sonia pointed at the snow. Tails looked confused for a moment. Then, he smirked back at Sonia.
TAILS
Then, let the snow battle begin!
Sonia and Tails GRINNED EVILLY.
EXT. VAN
Sonia and Tails RAN out with some shovels and
started shoveling the snow.
SONIA
So, we are going to save them?
TAILS
Wrong.
Sonia STOPPED in her tracks.
SONIA
What?
But I thought you were going to fight with me.
TAILS
I can’t.
When I fight, I must stay as discreet as possible. Nope, Sonia, YOU are going to fight.
SONIA
Me?
But I’ve only been a freedom fighter for about a week. I just met my brothers, you know.
TAILS
I know—
SONIA
Are you SURE you do or are you just saying
that?
TAILS
Sonia... I was THERE when you guys met!
SONIA
But I didn’t see you.
TAILS
I was there, trust me. And so was your mom. In fact, she’s probably watching over us
right now.
WIPE TO:
INT. PRISON CELL
Sonic and Manic still sat on the plank bed,
saying nothing when some figures appeared in front of the cell. Both of them looked up.
ANGLE ON DOOR
Robotnik, Sleet, Dingo and a couple of SWAT Bots
stood in front of the cell. Robotnik
rubbed his hands.
ROBOTNIK
“Well, the two Royal hedgehogs, or should I
say the two FORMERLY royal hedgehogs?
He laughed evilly. Sonic got up.
SONIC
Hey, Buttnik! No matter what you do, we'll always be of
royalty!
ROBOTNIK
Not after today! When the sun sets, I will be the new ruler of
Mobius! And you will be nothing but
dust! I'll roboticize your sister, and
when that's done she'll get the honor of turning you into mincemeat under my
command!
Robotnik pointed to both Sonic and
Manic. Manic SLOWLY walked to
Robotnik. Robotnik KNEELED down to see
what Manic had to say.
MANIC
She'd never do that! Roboticized or not, she'll never work for you!
Manic GULPED in a lot of saliva and SPAT in Robotnik’s
face. Angrily, Robotnik WIPED it away
with his hand.
SONIC
Face it, Robotnik, good will always win! You've never won, and you never will!
Sonic folded his arms.
ROBOTNIK
Is that so? Then, let's see who's the winner tomorrow! Me or you and your pathetic crowd of freedom
fighters!
He looked Sonic straight in his eyes. Then, a female voice SCREAMED from behind.
SONIA (O.S.)
The only pathetic person I see around here is
you!
Sleet and Dingo turned around just in time to
see Sonia fire some snowballs at them.
SONIA (CONT’D)
Here it comes, Buttnik! FIRE!
Robotnik on the other hand did not get to
turn around before a snowball hit his neck. He turned, furiously, noticing Sonia too.
ROBOTNIK
Sonia?! GET HER!
I WANT HER ALIVE!
He pointed to the girl and some SWAT Bots
started walking towards her.
ANGLE ON SONIA
Sonia pulled out a RADIO.
SONIA
(in radio)
Ready, Tails?
Sonia picked some snowballs up.
EXT. HILLS
Tails is laying prone on his stomach wearing
full white winter coats, camouflaged with the snow, and he has a long laser gun
with a scope on it.
TAILS
(in radio)
All ready.
Tails PLACED his finger on the trigger.
Sonia held up a snowball.
SONIA
Then, FIRE!
Sonia threw the snowballs at the SWAT Bots,
hitting a few, making them short circuit.
EXT. HILLS
Tails shot a PULSE BLAST with his eye buried
deep in the scope.
The blast hits a SWAT Bot, causing it to fall
back. Instantly, Robotnik, Sleet, and
Dingo JUMPED behind some crates.
ANGLE ON SONIA
Sonia SKIDDED around, dodging laser blasts
from the SWAT Bots. She SPUN on her butt
and threw another snowball, causing the SWAT Bot to short circuit.
MANIC (O.S.)
Behind you!
Sonia looked behind her, and there stood a
SWAT Bot!
EXT. HILLS
Tails FIRED another blast.
INT. PRISON
The SWAT Bot fell from that blast.
ANGLE ON ROBOTNIK, SLEET, AND DINGO
Another SWAT Bot is shot. Then two more short-circuited.
SLEET
Where is that coming from?
ROBOTNIK
Someone’s out there!
Robotnik peeked over the crate.
ROBOTNIK’S P.O.V.
He is looking out the broken window and saw a
little tiny “bump” on the hill. Then, a
laser blast shot right from it and it came INCHES away from Robotnik’s face!
ANGLE ON THREE BADNICKS
Robotnik DUCKED.
DINGO
(romantically)
Sonia.
Sleet SLAPPED HIM across the face.
SLEET
Get her, idiot!
DINGO
Oh, right!
Dingo started running towards Sonia but was
covered in snow before he reached her.
ROBOTNIK
Sleet!
SLEET
Yes?
ROBOTNIK
Someone’s up on the hill. Send SWAT Bots up there!
SLEET
Right away, sir!
WIDER
Sleet quickly GOT UP and DASHED across the
room.
TAILS’ P.O.V.
Everything is quiet, except for the snow
blowing in the wind. As Sleet ran across
the room, Tails had him in his cross hairs.
He FIRED a blast.
ANGLE ON SLEET
Sleet ran, DODGING the blast that burnt his
cape. Finally, he DOVE into a room.
INT. RADIO ROOM
Sleet picked up a radio and YELLED in it.
SLEET
SWAT Bots!
Attack on the hill!
EXT. PRISON
A squad of SWAT Bots, on hover vehicles, FLEW
toward the hills where Tails is.
The SWAT Bots were finished as well, and only
Robotnik back. Sonia STEPS INTO FRAME
from the side (Clint Eastwood style).
ANGLE ON SONIA
Sonia HELD onto a snowball with a DEVIL-LIKE
GRIN on her face.
SONIA
Oh, looks like I missed someone!
She threw it at Robotnik, who quickly ran off
right before the snowball hit. Sonia LAUGHED.
SONIA (CONT’D)
Alright! Girl Power!
EXT. HILL
The SWAT Bots arrive on the hill to see Tails
lying prone with his laser gun.
SWAT BOT
Freeze!
You are under arrest!
One of the SWAT Bots walked to Tails and
VIOLENTLY picked him up.
CLOSE ON TAILS
As the SWAT Bot picked him up, a string
attached to something broke, and then a BEEPING SOUND is heard.
WIDER
The SWAT Bots STARE at Tails, which happens
to be a DOLL!
SWAT BOT
What’s that beeping sound?
The SWAT Bot examined the Tails doll. He LIFTED the coat and, taped to the chest,
was a bunch of C4 and a timer. The timer
read 3, 2, 1.
EXT. ANOTHER HILL
A HUGE MUSHROOM EXPLOSION formed over the
hill. Watching from a distance are Tails
and Aleena.
ALEENA
Well, think they liked their surprise?
TAILS
I’m sure they did.
The two LAUGHED.
ALEENA
How are my kids?
TAILS
Safe.
They’re leaving just this minute.
Aleena looked at her watch.
ALEENA
Well, they better hurry! Those explosives they place will blow at any
minute!
Tails WIDENED HIS EYES.
TAILS
I forgot about that!
Tails reached for his radio, but realized it
is not on him.
TAILS (CONT’D)
Shoot!
I left my radio with the dummy.
The two LOOK OUT across the snow-covered city
in fear.
FADE OUT.
