ACT FOUR
FADE IN:
Sonia RAN to the prison
cell.
SONIA
Are you guys alright?
SONIC
We're fine, but a problem here. We can't get out. Sleet has both of the medallions and bro's
lock picking tools.
Sonic SHRUGGED his shoulders. Sonia then SHOOK HER HEAD with a grin.
SONIA
Not anymore.
She took off her backpack. Her brothers looked at her, confused.
SONIA (CONT’D)
You see, when Robotnik walked past me while I
was hiding, I managed to get these.
She found a little box in her backpack and
gave it to Manic.
SONIA
I believe they belong to you.
Manic looked from the box to her in
confusion.
MANIC
(stuttering)
You, you.
He stuttered, pointing at the box and then,
at her.
SONIA
I got these as well, thought they belonged to
somebody else other than Sleet, unless he's started
playing drums and guitar!
She SNICKERED and pulled Sonic and Manic's medallions out of her backpack and gave them back
as well. Manic's
mouth dropped open.
MANIC
Wait a Mobius minute! You took these from Sleet?!
He pointed to his lock picking tools and his
medallion.
Sonia BLUSHED and NODDED.
MANIC
But how?
Manic scratched his head.
SONIA
“Well, as much as I hate stealing, I realized
it’s not all bad. Besides, I’ve been watching you and I picked up some skills myself.
She grinned.
SONIA (CONT’D)
But I’m not going to be a full-time thief like
you, Manic. I'm
not gonna steal what I ought not steal, and I'll only
use it if I need to. I promised myself
that from the beginning.
SONIC
Well, that sounds sensible. But if I'm gonna spend one more minute in this cell, I'll starve to
death! Chili-dogs
on the breeze!
Sonic SPARKED his medallion.
MANIC
Please, allow me!
Manic took a screwdriver from the toolbox,
walked past Sonic and the lock to the cell was broken in a matter of seconds.
MANIC (CONT’D)
Thank you, ladies and
gentlemen!
Manic pushed a bit to the door and it opened.
Sonia quickly ran over and hugged them.
MANIC
Hey, hey, hey! Warm welcome! But what was that for, then?
Sonia shrugged her shoulders.
SONIA
For knowing you guys
are alive, I guess. I miss my
aristocratic life, but I can get use to this life. And, finally, my
twelve years of martial arts could finally get some use.
SONIC
Really? Then
you won't mind this!
They leaned over and hugged her as well.
SONIA
I—
Sonia forced herself to stop blushing.
SONIC
Probably not!
Sonic and Manic burst out in laughter. Sonia just smiled wryly. Then they released.
SONIC
Anyway, this mission blew up in our faces,
but we can always plant the explosives tomorrow I guess.
Sonia GRINNED evilly again.
SONIA
Well, I planted the explosives in the main
building. We can still plant the rest
where they are supposed to be! Robotnik’s scared a like a little kid.
Sonic and Manic NODDED in agreement.
SONIA (CONT’D)
So, what do you say? I’ve been a freedom
fighter for a week and I’m not going to fail it. I like good records.
MANIC
Looks like no failure this time, bro!
SONIC
You got it.
Let’s start planting.
They all DASHED out together toward the other
buildings. As they planted, MUSIC played
and Sonia SUNG the song.
SONIA
(singing)

sung normally.

The music INCREASED and Sonia sung LOUDER.

and did a short INSTRUMENTAL SOLO while singing softly.
SONIA (CONT’D)

Sonia then sung NORMALLY.
SONIA (SONT’D)

The music INCREASED and Sonia sung
LOUDER. They also planted the LAST
explosive and SPED away.
SONIA (CONT’D)

The music kept the same rhythm. Sonia PRESSED a button on a remote. The factories BLEW UP!
SONIA (CONT’D)

Then, Sonia FINISHED the song.
EXT. HILL
After the explosion and
music, silence. Then, the three APPLAUDED, slapping each other
a high-five.
SONIC
As said, good always wins! Let's get away from
here guys!
He grabbed Sonia and Manic and sped off, towards
the outskirts of the city and into the
WIPE TO.
EXT. VAN - EVENING
In the evening, everything in the van seemed
to be quiet.
INT. VAN
Sonic was driving the van while the others
were relaxing. Sonia was looking through
the stuff in her backpack when she noticed a note inside. She pulled it out and opened it.
SONIA
Guys, I've got something. From mom.
Sonic slammed the brakes and everybody turned
to her.
SONIC / MANIC
MOM?!
Sonia NODDED.
SONIA
It says that she loves us and we'll reunite with her soon.
She gave the note to Sonic who took it,
slowly.
SONIA (CONT’D)
Guys, I know how much it hurts to miss one's
family. Trust me, I'm
there too.
She looked down at the floor. Manic put a hand on her shoulder, comforting
while Sonic read the note. When he
looked up, he gave it to Sonia again.
SONIC
You'd better read it yourself, sis. You found it and it was in your backpack.
He nodded to the note. Sonia looked from it to him for a moment. Then, she looked down at the note again.
SONIA
(reading)
My dear children. I am
proud of you and the way you made each other feel as much at home even with
drastic changes.
ALEENA (V.O.)
(fades with Sonia)
She does not look like a freedom fighter, but
inside, she has a heart and sole just like us. You know this, and I am sure the rest of
Mobius will know this soon as well. I
know you all miss your family but you, my children, are the only ones she has at the moment beside the rest of you in the resistance. She is fighting for our freedom and I would
like to make it her freedom as well. Therefore, I would like you and everyone else
to think of her as a Mobian from now on. Not a stranger, but a Mobian like yourselves. You
became in harmony with each other, she became in harmony with you and I know this means you will be able to work together
and overthrow Robotnik and make the prophecy come true. We will be together. We are all destined for the Royal family of Mobius, she has been ever since she was born. She will not only be a part of our family when
we get reunited but also a part of Mobius. A Mobian.
SONIA
(fades with Aleena)
And this will happen soon. I love you. Queen Aleena.
Sonia stopped reading and looked out in the
air for a moment.
SONIA (CONT’D)
I—
Her voice started trembling and before she
was able to do anything, she burst out in tears, crying against Manic. Sonic looked at his siblings.
SONIC
Looks like the freedom fighters have a new
true member.
He half smiled. Manic patted Sonia's back
and when she finally stopped crying and looked at them she was close to
bursting out in tears again.
SONIA
How? I mean, a part of you? A
freedom fighter, how will I ever be that?
She dried the last tears away.
MANIC
I don't know, but
we'll probably know soon. But until then, I'll be there for you, sis.
Manic put a hand on her shoulder.
SONIC
As long as you don't
eat all of my chili-dogs, I’ll be there, too.
He grinned. Sonia SNICKERED.
SONIA
You guys are the
best!
SONIC
Anyway, we'd better
find some place to sleep. Fine?
He looked at the two. They NODDED.
SONIA
And Sonic.
Sonia watched as he started the van.
SONIC
Yes?
SONIA
You can keep your chili-dogs.
SONIC
Sonia, you're all
heart!
Sonic kept an eye on the road while Sonia and
Manic burst out in laughter.
CUT TO:
INT. HIDEOUT – NIGHT
Tails WALKED IN the hideout, this time,
remembering where the light swatch was.
TAILS
Aleena, I’m home.
Tails entered the gym and saw Aleena working
out.
ALEENA
Hi, Tails.
Aleena is wearing a white undershirt, a
sweatband, a pair of shorts, and sneakers.
She is lying on a bench, lifting a barbell.
ALEENA (CONT’D)
13, 14, 15.
She set the barbells on the hooks and stood
up.
TAILS
Well, I slipped the note to your kids.
ALEENA
And?
TAILS
They read it.
They miss you more than you think.
Aleena GRABBED A TOWEL and started wiping her
face.
ALEENA
Yeah, it’s heart
breaking.
TAILS
I can sort of relate.
Aleena took some cloth wraps and wrapped them
around her hand, like a boxer.
ALEENA
You do?
TAILS
Do you know my history?
ALEENA
Uh, no. Tell
me.
Aleena stood in front of a punching bag and
started beating it up.
CLOSE ON TAILS
Tails took in a DEEP BREATH.
TAILS
Well, I, myself, was
removed from my family.
ALEENA
Robotnik?
TAILS
The Oracle.
Aleena STOPPED and turned to Tails.
ALEENA
I’m so sorry.
TAILS
It’s okay.
I was meant to.
Tails SAT on the bench. Aleena SAT next to him.
TAILS (CONT’D)
You see, the Oracle of Delphius mentioned
that I have a destiny in my life. I must
support the Sonic Underground and help them in their prophesy. Want to know the real
reason why I have two tails?
ALEENA
(pause)
The Oracle?
Tails NODDED.
TAILS
I was only two. He said I was intelligent for my age. He came to me and said I was the one who must
support the three Royal Hedgehogs. So, when Sonic found me that day, that was not an
accident. I spied on the other two,
Manic and Sonia, for some time. He
stated that I must leave my parents and support the Royal Hedgehogs.
ALEENA
And that’s when you met me.
Tails NODDED.
TAILS
Yup, you met me.
ALEENA
I was just turning twenty at the time. I cared for you, and now it seems like you’re caring for me.
TAILS
The Oracle did a spell to increase my
responsibility.
ALEENA
And your knowledge of how to work weapons and
your black belts in Tae Kwon-Do and Tang Soo Do?
Tails gave Aleena an ODD LOOK.
TAILS
Nope, that was all just me. I learned those things myself.
ALEENA
Yourself?
TAILS
Well, I had a sensei, but,
you know what I mean.
Aleena NODDED.
ALEENA
Yeah, I’m glad to
have met you, Miles Tails Prower.
TAILS
Thank you.
Aleena HUGGED Tails. Then, they heard a BEEPING sound.
TAILS (CONT’D)
That’s the media room. Incoming message.
Tails got up and left. Aleena sat there, thinking about her
children.
TAILS (O.S.)
(calling from room)
Aleena, it’s the
Oracle!
Aleena SHOT UP and ran to the room.
INT. MEDIA ROOM
Aleena looked over Tails’ shoulder on the
video phone.
ALEENA
What is it?
ANGLE ON VIDEO PHONE
The Oracle is on the screen.
ORACLE
Aleena, Tails, we may have some
problems. I just found out that Robotnik
is building something extraordinary.
ALEENA
What is he building?
ORACLE
I don’t know. I did intercept the information, but it was encrypted. You
need to find the rest of the file.
ALEENA
Okay. Where?
ORACLE
Go to the Floating Island. Retrieve the discs from Robotnik’s unit
stationed there. Call back once you’ve got them.
The message SHUT OFF.
TAILS
I’ll stay here, Aleena, and guide you through.
ALEENA
Good idea.
Aleena RAN to a cabinet and OPENED it. She pulled out some laser guns, motorcycle
gear, a helmet, and ran out.
TAILS
Oh, Aleena!
Aleena STOPPED and looked at Tails.
TAILS (CONT’D)
Be careful out there.
Aleena NODDED.
ALEENA
Thanks, I will.
Aleena then left. She CLOSED the door behind her, leaving Tails
in the darkness.
FADE OUT.
