I contributed to this story by doing a good bit of the leg work, including getting in touch with and interviewing Inez Tenenbaum's people. The graphic was my first for the Carolina Reporter, and I completed it with the help of Julia Knetzer. Sorry if the story seems confusing because of the way I had to scan it in.
