An Evolutionary Fairytale
I hope you enjoy the following
children's fairytale.
Once upon a time there was nothing. Not even anything! No universe, no
stars or moon or sun! Why, there wasn't even an earth! Can you imagine
that, boys and girls?
Then some of this nothing gathered together in a place and it got
denser and denser and this nothing spun faster and faster and then it
exploded!
This explosion shot out all of the nothing and created everything!
Isn't that amazing, boys and girls? All by itself! Imagine that!
In fact, this explosion of nothing made bunches and bunches of gas that
formed in clouds! And these clouds themselves began to be squished
together to make the planets and stars and our sun and moon! Isn't that
amazing?
And then you know what happened? Then the earth formed and hardened
into rock and rainclouds came and rained on the rock for a long, long
time. Longer than you or I have been alive! Much, much longer than that
even! And the oceans formed and some of the rocks dissolved into the
water and made a soup.
Then in this soup a slime emerged! All by itself. And magically, it
found a girl slime and they fell in love and had baby slimes! And
slowly, after a really long time these slimes magically transformed
into tiny creatures! Isn't that amazing?
And then, over long periods of time, these creatures magically
transformed into all the animals and plants we see today! Then the apes
emerged! And can you guess what happened then, boys and girls?
Why, magically these apes turned into humans! That's right! You and I
are just big, hairless apes who walk on two feet! And they came from a
rock which came from nothing! Isn't that just amazing? Isn't that just
magical?
And all the thinking slimes and walking rocks lived happily ever
after...
