N.gracilis in the wild

These pitchers were found alongside a jogging path at MacRitchie Reservoir. I was surprised to find them there because I have always thought that Nepenthes needed "tropical rainforest" conditions to grow! Tens of N.gracilis were growing out there in the open where it is windy.

I took this photograph when I saw how the tendril has wound itself around the tendril of another pitcher...
