I don't fish to catch fish. I fish to clear out my head; the fish are juat an added bonus. This is not to say that I don't want to catch fish successfully. That's where this page comes from... my desire to be a successful recreational fisherman. I want to have enough fish in my freezer that if i want to have a fish fry, call my buds, and knock back a few cold ones I can.

Fishing and hunting are things people do to, in some manner, tap into the primal battle of man vs nature. To take home dinner not from the grocery store, but from some pristine, untouched section of a river, lake, or stream that was here before we were. It makes each of us feel just a little more alive.

Even if you are catch and release, you had better thank the man upstairs and that fish in your hands for each and every fish you pull out of the water; for the chance to see that fish in all it's glory. if you are going to eat it, then you had better thank the spirit (yes, I said spirit) of that fish for giving you the GIFT of it's fight, it's life, and the sustenance it will provide.
