Community Based Training

Community Based Training - 75 hours required to graduate

 

The work transition teacher will arrange locations and schedules for sites and hours in the community with the exception of the Horticulture students. Horticulture students go out tio community sites weekly with their teacher.

Grade 9 - maximum of 10 hours
1. In house assembly work done in Employability Class


Grade 10 - maximum 18 hours
Meetings with students for work skills development August 21st to discuss and plan CBT
Meetings with students pre-work transition August 23rd to discuss and plan CBT
1. Three sets of job shadowing in small groups.
2. Each set will be for two sessions.
3. Students will be grouped by high schools.
4. Each session will be approximately three hours.
5. Assistant will go with and stay with students.

Grade 11 - maximum of 18 hours
Meetings with students in driver’s skills September 17th
Meetings with students in school factory September 19th
Meetings with students in Occupational Specific classes September 21st
1. Three sets of job shadowing in small groups.
2. Each set will be for two sessions.
3. Students will be grouped by interest and abilities.
4. Each session will be approximately three hours.
5. Assistant will go with and supervise students.
6. This will also include students in Occupational Specific Classes

Grade 12 - Maximum of 60 hours
Meetings with students in Occupational Specific classes August 27th
1. Three sets of individual job shadowing activities
2. Each set will be one day a week for five weeks.
3. Each session will be four hours
4. Student abilities and preferences will be taken into consideration.
5. An assistant will bring the student to job site, return later to check on them and pick them up at the end of the session.
6. This will include students in occupational specific classes.
