The boys were 12th with 17 points and the girls were first with 74 points
Boys
On a cold drizzly day at Union College's Frank Bailey Field, the Shen boys track and field team finished 12th at the prestigious William F. Eddy Meet. Despite the low finish, many athletes ran PRs.
Jim Chambers ran a 12.68 in the 100 prelims. In the 400, Brian Connolly ran a 58.23. In the 800, Zach Hansen ran a team best 1:59.50 to finish 9th. John Lynch was 8th in the mile with a 4:33.62. Scott Schulte ran 4:39. Mark Gaedje was 14th in the mile with a 4:40.58 PR. Darrell Andruski was 3rd in the 3200 with a 9:27.71.
Andre Vives was 8th in the 110 hurdles semis with a 16.71. Sean Ranagan took 9th with 16.83. Wagner Samaniego was 7th in the 400 hurdles with a 59.06. Dave Vickers was 17th with a 62.11.
The 4x100 team was 15th in the prelims with a 46.59. The 4x200 was 9th in the prelims with 1:36.94. The 4x800 team took 6th with a 8:16.67. The 4x400 was 10th with 3:37.48.
In the high jump, McClure and Nelson tied for 12th with 5-10. Cooper and Vickers tied for 3rd in the pole vault with 12-6. Horlacher was 9th with 11-6. Ranagan took 18th in the long jump (17-10.5). Chambers was 19th (17-8) and Bellumori was 24th (16-2.75). McClure was 20th in the triple jump (37-11.15). In the shot put, Smith was 18th (40-6), McGrath was 25th (38-2.5), and Litwa was 26th (35-0). In the discus, Smith was 22nd (117-1), McGrath was 23rd (111-2), and Litwa was 25th (107-9).
On the girls' side, Lisa Srok was 7th in the 400 with a 61.34. Kate Best was 12th (63.34). Dana Belcher was 34th in the 800 (2:37.21). In the 1500, Cara O'Toole was 17th (5:01.32), Kevlin was 22nd (5:04.55), and Wisenburn was 23rd (5:05.21).
Kate Hedeen was 7th in the 400 hurdles with a 70.54. The 4x100 team ran 50.86, finishing second to Uniondale. The 4x200 team also finished second to Uniondale, running a 1:48.93. Kate McDonough was 3rd in the high jump with a 5-2 effort. Jamie Stitt won the pole vault with a 10-6. Jessica Bradt was 14th in the long jump with a 13-2.5 jump.
Kristin Risch was victorious in the triple jump with a 35-2 effort. Kelly Hagner won the shot put with a 38-9.75 and the discus with a 133-6. The 4x400 team was 3rd with a 4:10.39.
