The boys failed to qualify anyone for the state meet, but there were some great individual performances. Chris Horlacher was second in the pole vault with 13-6. Chris Cooper was third with 13-0. Ammon Nelson was second in the high jump with a 5-11.
In the 4x800 relay the all-seniors team of Zach Hansen, Shaun Horan, Darryl Slater, and John Lynch was third with a team best 8:06. All four finished their high school running careers at the qualifier. The 4x400 team of Wagner Samaniego, Andy Street, Tsepo Simpson, and Sam Silver was second with a team best 3:27.8.
Samaniego was third in the 400 hurdles with a 58.1. Darrell Andruski finished out his high school career with a 9:45 in the 3200, good for second.
The girls had four state qualifiers. Dana Razzano won the long jump with a 16-5. Kelly Hagner won the shot put (39-8.5) and discus (128-7). Vicky Pasche was second in the shot put (37-8) and third the discus (105-5). Jamie Stitt also qualified with her Section II record tying vault of 10-6.
Laurie Macander was third in the 800 with a 2:25.6. Katie McDonough was second in the high jump with a 5-1. Cara O'Toole was second in the 1500 with a 5:02. Kristin Risch took second in the triple jump with a 34-.75. Razzano was third with a 34-0. Leigh Fitzgerald was third in the 400 with a 64.1. The 4x800 team was third with a 9:58. The 4x400 team was third with a 4:05.7.
