"Thy Will Be Done"

I remember hearing Momma praying when I was very small.
She always said "Thy Will be done",
When upon His name she would call.
I heard her say many times "Lord, have Thine own way".
"Help us to do your Holy Will each and every day."
My Momma was sick, All of my life.
Physical ailments plaqued her,
Leading her through a life of strife.
Tho' life was very hard on her;
We never heard her complain.
She prayed "Dear Lord, Thy Will be done, If it's Your Will, ease my pain."

I heard her pray many times "Lord, please take me on home",
But in her next sentence she would say,
"Only if Thy Will be done."

Momma's in Heaven now.
But I can still hear her say,
"Pray for His Will to be done,
Let him lead you everyday."

Many times over the years,
Since Momma was called home,
I've remembered her words when she would pray
For His Precious Will to be done.

When I've walked the halls of hospitals
Wondering how I could ever go on alone,
Her words would come back to me,
"Pray for His Will to be done."
"When you pray for His Will to be done,
It has to come from within your heart."
"You must pray it, mean it, live it,
Then He will, from you, ne'er depart."
"Thy Will be done today, oh Lord,
Give me the strength to carry on
'Til You are ready for me o'er on that shore
Dear Lord, Thy Will be done."

If I never learned anything else from Momma, I learned that to say "Thy Will be done" and really mean it, is the only way to live. His Will may not be my will but His Will is the Way, the only way to peace and joy some sweet day.

(All the above words are Lindas
These are my own words.
I learned to say "Thy Will Be Done,
and truly believe that His Will would be done
when our son, Travis, was so very ill
and the doctors told us there was nothing else they could for him.
Our Lord called Travis home
