~I've Gotta Be Me~

I've heard that folks are in pain
They say they just need to live
They've cried out to the world again
Yet they're happy for they can forgive
I want to live, not merely survive
I won't stand for somebody who cheats nor lies

I won't give up easily,
yet sometimes I can't stay alive
I can live in pain,
but you'll never hear my cries

I've gotta be me,
and continue on my way
I need to go slowly,
I want to be free

God has blessed me and kept me here today
That's why you can see I've gotta be me
