~He Walked~

One a day, long ago,
up a long, high hill, He walked and He walked...
As a Cross was placed on His back, but he never talked.
He never said this isn't right to do~
because He was destined to walk.

No other man, on earth,
could have stood up to it,
but He didn't balk.

He walked the journey for me.
My heart tells me, His heart cried...
But he walked on,
staggering under the load,
soon he will have died.

He was athirst, as He walked;
they gave Him vinegar, on a reed.

Oh my Savior, let us yet help Thee yet,
in this horrendous deed...
By picking up our Cross and following in the pathway, of Thee,
Loving our neighbor,
conversing with the friendless, to help see...
Our own faults and mend them,
in Thy sight oh Lord. Help us.
Help us to walk and talk to all,
about our best and Mighty friend, Jesus.

He walked on the banks of Jordan,
His heart and mind, on us all.
He knew from the start that He was destined, on us to call...
But He walked by the seashore.
He stooped and wrote in the sand,
And said: "If there be any among you,
cast a stone by your own hand".

He was born in Bethlehem,
in a stable with a cradle of fresh straw.
Even then He loved us.
From His Father, He was brought unto the law. Gods law, who gave His Lamb that would have to walk a hill one day,
For the world of people whom
He loved and Lord, I will love you always.

And yes, He died at the hands of evil men,
but OH! Guess what then?
He went into Hades and took the keys,
and then He AROSE again...
Praise Jesus, He walked and
He walked for all who would love Him,
And even though all wont believe,
He walked and died to save them.
