"5... 6... 7... 8... 9... 10... ready or not, prepare to be staked!"

Spike laughed from behind the tree, forgetting than in hide-and-seek noise
was not the aim.

Buffy laughed harder when she heard his uncharacteristic chuckle, thinking
that only a vampire would pick such an obvious hiding place.

The game had been meant to take both their minds off everything that had
happened in the last while, it was by mere coincidence that they had run
into each other.

Soon they found they were having fun together, strange to both because
neither usually associated their lives with fun, but they felt comfortable
together.

Spike peeked his head out from behind the tree just as Buffy was sneaking
around to catch him.

Their lips meant on impulse and after minutes had passed the game was all
but forgotten since neither could remember their name, much less how to
count to ten.
