Dancing With Myself

"If I looked all over the world / And there's every type of girl / But your
empty eyes seem to pass me by / And leave me dancing with myself."

Spike danced around his crypt and sang to the lyrics of his 80s idol,
giggling at the pun; he was drunk, that much he knew, but what should have
been obvious and what he failed to notice was a certain Slayer standing in
the doorway watching him.

When Spike looked over and saw the Slayer grinning at him, his drunken mind
logically assumed this was another dream; it's not like he didn't have them
every night or, err, day.

Buffy was so amused by the sight in front of her that when Spike stumbled
over to her she was so surprised she didn't even notice what he was doing
until his mouth descended onto hers.

Spike was drowning as the kiss carried on and on, then he abruptly broke it
off, leaving Buffy stunned in front of him, but he didn't want to miss the
rest of the song; after all it wasn't like his dream Buffy was going
anywhere.

"Oh, oh, oh dancing with myself / Oh, oh, oh dancing with myself / Well
there's nothing to lose / And there's nothing to prove / And I'm dancing
with myself."

Hurrying outside Buffy could hear the end of his song dissolving into the
night and she was forced to lean against a gravestone to steady her knees as
she remembered the feel of his lips on hers; she was definitely in trouble.
