"He's not over here." said Sam, running around frantically.

"He's not here either." Ben said, coming out from behind a large rock. "Where the hell is he? Daniel!?!"

"Hey Ben, why don't we just ask this little fairy creature here?" suggested Chris.

"Chris, did you eat those red berries? We told you not to!" said Sam, who was under the impression that Chris was seriously hallucinating.

"No man, look!" said Chris, pointing to a small fairy, who was sitting on a toadstool and painting her fingernails a beautiful shade of blue.

Sam and Ben could only stare, not believing their eyes. Chris, however, was completely unfazed by the surrealism of the situation, and started to walk over to the fairy. "Hi there, sorry to interrupt, but I was wondering if you'd seen my friend? He's blonde, about so tall, was probably mumbling something about 'Neighbours'..."

The fairy cut him off, "Was he wearing a t-shirt that said 'I love Sweep' on it by any chance?"

"Yeah!" said Chris, starting to get hopeful about finding out the whereabouts of his friend.

"Yeah, I saw him about ten minutes ago." she said, still not looking up from her nails.

Suddenly, Ben sprung to life. "Where is he? Is he ok? Which way did he go?" he asked frantically, regaining the power of speech.

"I'm afraid he's been captured by the evil flower fairy, Oceania." she replied, finally lifting her petite head up to look Ben in the eye.

"Whaaat!?!" shouted Ben.

"Yep, I saw it with my own two eyes," said the fairy shaking her head. "That boy sure does have a good set of lungs on him. He screams loud."

"What are we going to do?" asked Sam, not believing what was happening.

"You must rescue your friend. You three - Ben, Chris and Sam - you are the youth..."

"We are the youth?" Ben cut in.

"Yes, and you are the only ones that can save him." finished the fairy.

"Hey, how did you know our names?" asked Chris.

"I'm a fairy. I know everything." she shrugged.

"So where is he?" asked Sam. "Where can we find him?"

"Ok, to find Daniel you must follow my instructions very carefully." the fairy said. The boys leaned closer to hear her a bit better. "Right, you need to take 472 paces north, then 39 paces east and you will come to a large tree. At the roots of the tree there will be a hole which you need to climb down then follow the tunnel until you come to an opening, through which you will see a house, which is where Daniel is being held captive."

"Oh my god," gasped Ben, not believing the journey they'd have to make to save his 'friend'. "Really?"

"Nah, I was just kidding. See the house on top of that hill over there," the fairy said, pointing to a rickety wooden building not too far away in the distance. "He's in there."

"Why didn't you just tell us that in the first place?" asked Sam, slightly exasperated at the fairy for pissing about with them.

"It was more fun for me this way." said the fairy with a cheeky grin on her face. "Always mess with their minds."

The three boys just looked at each other, not knowing what to think or say. Chris broke the silence. "Well, thanks for your help - I think."

"No worries" said the fairy, once again concentrating on her nails. "Good luck with finding him and all."

"Thanks. Bye!"

"She was strange" Sam whispered to Chris while they were walking away.

"Hmm, I know." said Chris. "She's not as strange as Ben though."

Ben ignored Chris's last comment and said "Come on, let's go try and find our way to this house so we can get Dan and go home"
