"Ugh." Josie mumbled, looking herself up and down in the mirror. Today was the day of the big wedding, and Josie was less than happy about it. Over
the last month she had grown to like Jillian, but she still hated having to
dress up no matter what the cause was.
"Josie?" Ryan called through the door. "Ben's here." Pulling at her thigh length blue dress, Josie groaned and threw the door open.
"Cute." She laughed, glancing at her brother in a tux. Taking the steps two at a time, Josie ran downstairs towards her boyfriend.
"Hey..." Ben trailed off from his conversation with Nathan. He looked her up and down and couldn't help but smile.
"Stop staring!" She said self consciously as he hugged her to him.
"You look nice," he grinned, pulling at his tie unhappily.
"You don't look so bad yourself." She said as Nathan grabbed his car keys.
"Everyone ready?" He asked, ruffling Ryan's hair. Getting a nod from everyone he nodded, and threw open the door. "All right, let's go."
"I am so glad that is not me." Josie whispered as she stared at the uncomfortable looking brides maids.
"I'm glad that's not you too." He smiled, kissing her hair softly.
"They look so happy." She said, looking up at him happily.
"Yeah." He agreed, holding her hands in his.
"Ben, what's gonna happen to us?" She asked, rubbing his hands nervously.
After their reconciliation last week, Ben and Josie had spilled on everything in their lives. About Josie's mother leaving the family, about Ben being in the band, which Josie already knew. Ben had also told her about the band going back on tour soon. All the "practices" he had were actually recording sessions, and they were almost through.
"God Josie." He mumbled, staring straight ahead and not meeting her gaze. "I don't know. I know I don't wanna break up with you." He whispered as the woman in front of him shot him a dirty look for talking too loud.
"I don't wanna break up with you either, but I have school, It's not like I can go with you. You're gonna be thousands of miles away." She said sadly as he wrapped and arm around her shoulder.
"We can make it work." He murmured hopefully.
"Do you think we'll ever be like them?" Josie asked, motioning towards her father and soon to be stepmother.
"I don't know, maybe." He sighed, squeezing her shoulder lovingly.
"It doesn't matter." She said, looking down at her hands.
"Josie I didn't mean that...." Josie cut him off.
"No, I mean it doesn't matter, because I'll always care about you. Two minutes away or twenty-thousand miles away, I'll still love you." She smiled.
"Josie." Ben mumbled as the people around him stood and cheered for the bride and groom. "I love you too." He said, taking her face in his hands. Pressing his lips to hers, they were oblivious to the goings on around them. "So," He said softly, "was it worth moving out here?
Grinning widely, Josie poked him playfully in the ribs. "I don't know," She smiled, grabbing the back of his neck and leaning in for a kiss. "You tell me, was it worth it?"
Nodding quickly, Ben kissed her once more. "Oh yeah. I'd say so."
