THE RUMORED CAST

Batman/Bruce Wayne

George Clooney Kurt Russell

It's pretty much a done deal that George Clooney will
again portray the caped crusader. While there was talk for a while that Kurt Russell might take
over the part of the Bat, sources now say that he is totally out of
the picture. Here's hoping that Warner Brothers
decision to use Clooney again proves to pay off at the
box office unlike it did in the last film.

Robin/Dick Grayson/Nightwing

Chris O'Donnell

Even though Chris O'Donnell will almost certainly reprise this role, no one is still quite sure if Robin
will even be in the next film. There have been rumors
from he gets killed off in the very beginning of the
film to he ditches the whole Robin image to become
Nightwing. Whatever fate Robin does eventually
receive, the film should be still be great whether
they decide to keep him in it or pretend he never
existed in the first place.
Batgirl/Barbara Gordon

Alicia Silverstone

Almost every sorce associated with the Batman: The
Dark Knight project has said that Batgirl will not be
in it at all. After the last film, alot of executives
at Warner Brothers, along with fans, thought the
character was a pointless addition to the franchise
and should not be brought back. However, if the
director turns out to be Joel Schumacher, she might
still return and possibly be portrayed by Siverstone.
There would be one major differnce though; she would
be Commissioner Gordon's daughter and not Alfred's
niece as before.

Scarecrow/Jonathan Crane

Steve Buscemi Jeff Goldblum

It is still a toss up between these two but most
people will tell you that Golblum will almost
definetly get the part based on his career background.
Both actors certainly have the look for the part and
would do great as the Scarecrow. Latest word is that
Warner Bros. has approached both actors but neither
has fully committed to the project. Time will tell who
will don the straw hat and outfit for the film.
The Director

Joel Schumacher Tim Burton
David Fincher

"Who will the director be?" It's a question that has
been asked more times than not since that last movie.
While Schumacher was originally going to make the next
film hands down, after "Batman & Robin" bombed, he
isn't 100% sure he wants to do the next film. While he
has shown the most interest, Burton and Fincher have
also expressed some interest in the project. Burton
could easily return the franchise to it's dark
portrayal of Batman but so could Fincher with movies
like Dark City and Alien 3 under his belt. Once again,
only time will tell.
