Part 1

" Who ARE you?"

A faint amused smile formed on my lips. Being asked that same question over and over again through the centuries...well, it just becomes humorous to me. I gave Thierry a bemused look. So here I was, sprawled on a black leather loveseat in Thierry Decouedres's mansion. Circle Daybreak meeting. Oh joy.

I sat up slowly and replied in a careless manner," I'am Lilith DeAllure. It is just a name. It is nothing, holds nothing."

" But," I continued," my title at the moment, holds everything dear in your lives."

The Daybreakers just stared at me blankly. I had expected that. They had forgotten what existed outside their war against the Night World. Or just forgot, period. But soon they'll learn.

I took a good long look at the Daybreakers. The present ones seated before me were Thierry, Hannah, Poppy, James, Thea, Eric, Ash, Quinn, and Rashel. I did not know them personally, but it was part of my job to know who they were and their background.

Then I felt it. A gentle tendril caressing my mind. My eyes narrowed with anger. Payback time.

I grabbed hold of that tendril with my mind, and whipped unbelievable power into the tendril, acting as a circuit connected to the person stupid enough to try and use their powers to go inside my head.

A dark-haired boy, James, yelped in pain and gripped his head. Worried murmurs arose from the other, while his soulmate, Poppy, asked what was wrong. I turned to him with a frosty sheen in my eyes.

" Try that again, vampire-boy, and I will use my full power instead of just one tiny pinch."

I know what they saw. They saw a young women sitting on a loveseat in a careless manner, but there was always that hint of predatory grace in her movement. Sea green tendrils of hair cascading down her back in waves, soft and silky. A lithe figure sheathed in black leather pants that matched the loveseat she sat on, and a black tube top that couldn't hide a tattoo of a lotus with entertwining leafed vines in a complicated pattern surrounding it. A vixen who's dark emerald green eyes with flecks of gold burned with an inner fire, and who's rosy full lips went with her flower-petal creamy complexion. But Poppy, on the other hand, saw a girl who had hurt her soulmate, and was ready to slash her into ribbons.

Poppy was being held back by Ash, while James looked up at me," You did that...," His voice held awe, resentment...and fear? Ah yes, fear.

" What'd she do?," came Rashel's calm, cool voice.

" She power-whipped my mind," James replied.

" She what?!," Poppy screamed. Fury showed in her eyes. Quinn stood up to help Ash restrain Poppy.

I challenged her with my eyes, ready to fight. But then Thierry spoke in a tense voice," Poppy, sit down."

Poppy stopped struggling for a moment, and looked at him. The she met my eyes, and said in a withering tone," This isn't over," And sat.

" So be it," I replied casually. Personally, I hate fights. But there's also that dark side of me that loves destruction. It craves for blood and battle.

" Ms. Allure," Thierry began again, but I stopped him with my hand raised in protest.

" Call me Lilith."

He frowned then began again," Lilith, please explain to us why you have come here in the middle of our meeting. We don't want any violence," He glanced at James," That was unexpected."

" And uncalled for," came Quinn's soft but deadly voice. I met his eyes and held them.

" If he ever tries to use his powers on someone, then he should check and see who they are first. But he didn't do that, which was foolish. And I hate foolishness." I glanced at James again, he gave a strained smile. Tsk-tsk. He should be only feeling a heady, ringing sensation now.

" And as I asked before, who are you? Or exactly, what are you?," Thierry asked me in a toneless voice. His expression was unreadable. It was a blank mask, but I knew better. He really really did want to know.

I smiled," You really want to know?."

" Just tell us already!," Ash, the white-blonde Redfern cried out. Oops, I guess I've kept them waiting too long.

I looked at Thierry again," I'am one of the Sisters of Seriana."

Silence settled in the room.

" Who...?," Eric, a human asked quizzically. He turned to Thea, his soulmate, but she just shrugged, equally puzzled. Everyone in the room looked confused and blank.

Except for Thierry.

Of course, Thierry. He was the only one who could rival how many centuries I've lived.

Rashel saw Thierry gulp, and said curiously," Thierry, you're not telling us something. You know what she's talking about, don't you?."

A look was in Thierry's eyes, a look of wonder.

" But I--I thought that it was all just a myth," He finally blurted out. So much for the calm, expressionless act.

" Yeah, just like vampires and witches, huh?," I retorted. This time, they knew how humans felt when they just found out that there was more to their world than just humans and animals.

He shook his head in wonder," I don't believe it..." he muttered.

All the while, everyone else was just listening to us converse, totally clueless. But now, seeing Thierry, Lord of the Night World, in denial, they began to ask rapid questions.

" What is the Sisters of -- "

" What is she talk--"

" Do you know--"

" What is going--"

He gave a quick sharp glance at everybody, and they all shut up.

He gave a tense look towards me, then began to speak," The Sisters of Seriana...they were gaurdians of this world long long ago."

" You mean she's ancient like you?," Ash asked.

Nothing gets to woman, than their age.

" Watch it," I threatened him, and he held up his hands in front of him in surrender. I just smiled.

" Thierry, do you want me to explain instead? Since I do know more about my culture and society," I offered.

" Go ahead," He replied. Besides, he looked like he needed a break.

" The Sisters of Seriana...we are gaurdians of one thing or another. An aspect of the earth, but we are always connected with the ocean. It is who we are, what is built inside our flesh, our genes. The Sisters of Seriana are sirens, true enough," I tilted my head and then said," but in a way, you can say we are goddesses. We are immortal. We are here to keep the balance in this world. Over the centuries, people soon resided us into myths, just like vampires, witches, and werewolves. And so, the Sisters of Seriana cut off all the human contact, and resided into the sea, our home."

I looked at everyone who was looking at me like I was telling a bed-time story," But sometimes, the balance in this world isn't equal, and on those occasions, the Sisters of Seriana once again leave their home in order to restore balance."

I finished with a contented smile on my lips.

" Then that's why you're here, right?," Rashel asked me," You're here to help us fight the Night World." Murmurs of agreement rose.

But I gave a throaty chuckle," Me, fight? Hardly. I'm here to stop you and the Night World from fighting, period."
