X-Review

A Weekly Review on episodes shown.
WARNING: Spoilers ahead. These episodes are old to those of you in countries such as the US that have already seen them. Meanwhile, us poor, unfortunate Australians are about 2 months behind.

Unfortunately, because I am now so busy these days, I won't be doing reviews weekly anymore. However, check out the reviews already done, and every now and then I'll still be doing them if I have really strong feelings about an episode. Keep posted.

Per Manum

Date: 03/05/01
The X-Files airs weekly on Thursday nights, channel 10 at 8:30pm on Aussie TV.

I SO loved this episode and am on such a high that I just had to write a review! Something I haven't touched for almost a year!

First of all, I was happy with the fact that Mulder was in it (even with him in the storyline at the very least made me the happiest person!). Sorry, I'll be using a lot of !!'s throughout...it's just that I admit I did lost interest in XF a few weeks ago and took to watching ER (although I did still tape XF) but I knew what Per Manum had in it, so I had to watch it.

I think the whole mytharc thing was what made it an interesting episode this season - with Mulder 'gone' and all, it was refreshing to see this episode. And Doggett, you gotta love him, how nice was he to Scully when he was promising her he'd help her look for Mulder? :) :)

Special effects were great - it's a bit hard to sum it up considering they had...let's just say alien foetuses (or is it foetii?) it might have been disturbing to some people but hey, it's XF and if it looked real enough to disturb you, I think it was a success.

I also loved the way they did the flashback scenes and dealt with that particular storyline and integrated it into the episode. Smart writing I tell ya :)

Oh, and the music! The same music they used for Within/Without! How much does that music just want to make you cry sometimes?

Enough of the informal review, let me get over my high from it. I'm still grinning and it's 40 minutes since the episode finished. :)

Daddy's back!
