I like music. I really like music. I have the tendency to write down the lyrics to songs that I really liked and copy them over and over again. Most of the ones that I write down are the ones that cause me to think things over or just songs that you should stop and look at the words not just sing along to the music, because often times, we know the words to songs, but never stop to think just what exactly we are singing. Sometimes the songs, especially in musicals, tell a story or have a meaning. So, for the first time, I am doing this page. I figure the songs that stand out in my mind are worth telling someone else about, especially if the song has the answer to the question that you are asking yourself at this moment. I plan on changing the songs that reside on this page periodically, so if you have any songs to suggest, just send the title of the song, where it's from, and the lyrics. If it's what I'm looking for, then I'll put it on the page.

To right the unrightable wrong,
To love, pure and chaste, from afar,
To try, when your arms are to weary,
To reach the unreachable star!
This is my quest, to follow that star,
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far,
To fight for the right without question or pause,
To be willing to march into hell for a heavenly cause!
And I know, if I'll only be true to this glorious quest,
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm when I'm laid to my rest.
And the world will be better for this,
That one man, scorned and covered with scars,
Still strove, with his last ounce of courage,
To reach the unreachable stars!
"Seasons of Love" from the musical Rent
Company
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred moments so dear
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure - measure a year?
In daylights - In sunsets
In midnights - In cups of coffee
In inches - In miles
In laughter - In strife
In - Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure a year in the life
How about love?
How about love?
How about love?
Measure in love

Soloist #2
In truths that she learned
Or in times that he cried
In bridges he burned
Or the way that she died
All
It's time now - to sing out
Tho' the story never ends
Let's celebrate
Remember a year in the life of friends
Remember the love
Remember the love
Remember the love

"The Last Song" by Elton John
Yesterday
You came to lift me up
As light as straw
And brittle as a bird
Today, I weigh less
Than a shadow on the wall
Just one more whisper
Of a voice unheard
Tomorrow
Leave the windows open
As fear grows
Please hold me in your arms
Won't you help me, if you can
To shake this anger
I need your gentle hands
To keep me calm
'Cause I never thought I'd lose
I always thought I'd win
I never dreamed I'd feel
This fire beneath my skin
I can't believe you love me
I never thought you'd come
I guess I misjudged love
Between a father and his son
Things we never said
Come together
The hidden truth
No longer haunting me
Tonight we touched
On things that were never spoken
That kind of understanding
Sets me free
'Cause I never thought I'd lose
I only thought I'd win
I never dreamed I'd feel
This fire beneath my skin
I can't believe you love me
I never thought you'd come
I guess I misjudged love
Between a father and his son
"No One Knows Who I Am" from the musical Jekyll & Hyde
Look at me and tell me
Who I am? What I am? Why I am
I don't know who I am
It's such a shame
I'm such a sham
No one knows who I am
Once there were sweet possibilities
I could see, just for me
Now all my dreams are just memories
Fated never to be
Time's not a friend, hurrying by
I wonder who am I
Am I the face of the future
Am I the face of the past
Am I the one who is finished
Last
Look at me and tell me
Who I am? What I am? Why I am
Will I survive
Who will give a damn
If no one knows who I am
Nobody knows, not even you
No one knows who I am
"It's Time" from Rhythm of the Pride Lands
The sun is shining
The children laughing, playing
Full of dreams to find
They all remind me
When I was a little boy
Full of life and pride
They look so peaceful
Moshanyana weso
bo' itumele
(My brother, be happy)
So sweet and graceful
Ngwana weso
bo'ithabise
(My sister, celebrate)
They're all so hopeful
Moshanyana weso
bo' itumele
(My brother, be happy)
And there's no need for crying
No need for fighting
Chorus:
It's time
Ithabise (Celebrate)
And this is meant to be your day
Shine
Ithabise (Celebrate)
And in your heart you know it's time
Ithabise (Celebrate)
For you to take your place
Ithabise (Celebrate)
Sometimes I wonder
Why people always seem
To turn around
And lose their way
Look out your window
Be grateful for this day
And make a change
It's okay
To be peaceful
Moshanyana weso
bo' itumele
(My brother, be happy)
And to be hopeful
Ngwana weso
bo' ithabise
(My sister, celebrate)
It's sweet and graceful
Moshanyana weso
bo' itumele
(My brother, be happy)
And there's no need for crying
No need for fighting
Chorus
Tsatsi lahao (Your day)
Lefihlile (Has come)
Ithabise (Celebrate)
Ithabise (Celebrate)
Chorus:
Ithabise (Celebrate)
