"Quilted Dreams" by
Freak(me)
Sitting in a darkened room
Watching the colors drift by-
The bright fluorescent colors of my mind.
Images of people laughing and talking
Within the bright colors floating past.
Reaching up and picking blue,
An image of people saddened by death.
Taking an image of red,
A group of people angry and hostile.
Then a splash of green and gold,
A sign of healing and prosperity.
With a needle, I sew the colors together-
Piece by piece-
Making a large quilt.
A piece of Intrigue thread here,
Another piece of Deception there.
Suspense takes up a seam between red and blue,
Interest makes intricate designs all over the
quilt
Next to humor.
Finally, to finish up the quilt,
Names are sewn on-
Dean...Sully...Dana...
Rachel...Philip...Caryn...
Connor...Scott...Sarah...
More and more names
Each playing a role
And each having a meaning.
The quilt is then hung over my bed
Full of color and life.
I close my eyes and see the scene
Unfolding before me,
Perfect in every way.
The movie in my mind plays until morning
When I wake.
Not to be seen again until evening
When I go back to the movies
And dream.
