Hi! My name is Vicki and I live in Summerville, SC. I've been attempting to gather information about my father's family. My mom's side has been thoroughly researched and is on a well designed page called Shaking the Family Tree.
When I began this project I knew very little about the Strzelec's. I wasn't even sure of my great grandmother's maiden name (Gumienna). With the help of a few relatives, the Family History Center and the internet I was able to begin my adventure! There are so many stones left unturned and that makes it all the more tantalizing. I decided to take a break from researching and learn to make a web page so I can share the info that I've gathered so far.
Around 1880, these families took a long journey from their country trying to discover a new life. It is not yet known why they left Poland or what made them decide on the quaint city of Manistee, Michigan to reside in. In 1902, the Strzelec's moved to Chicago, Illinois where they later bought a home and finished having their family.
