Here is another one of my originally written skits.Hope you enjoy it.It is about a mother that has an abusive marriage and has a kid.You might notice that a lot of my skits have to do with drugs and stuff like that but i do that because that is a major issue in America today.We need to take control of this problem and tell people the consequences and about the Lord.Here's th play.

Characters: 1.Melissa-mother of the baby. 2.Billy-Melissa's husband. 3.Lilly-baby.

Props: 1.crib 2.baby doll 3.maybe a little piece of a sermon

setting: set that looks like a room in a house.

script:

Melissa-(baby crying)I know. It'll be ok. Daddy will be home soon.

Billy-(walking through door drunk)Where are you at Melissa? Melissa get out here!

Melissa-(walking out there)What???

Billy-What are you doing back there?

Melissa-Taking care of Lilly.Something you haven't been able to do because you aren't home enough to even know what she looks like.

Billy-Whatever.Well, I'm hungry so get your butt back there and fix me something to eat.Since i never get to see Lilly cause i'm so called "never home" i'll go play with her.

Melissa-(after a while walking in on Billy shaking Lilly)Wait! Stop! What do you think you're doing?

Billy-Shut-up (puts baby back in the crib)She started crying so I got her to shut-up.

Melissa-That's not how you get a baby to quit crying.

Billy-Shut-up (fake slaps Melissa)(she falls on the floor crying)You deserved that. I'm leaving. (she's still crying on the floor)

Billy-(walking through the door a few days later) Melissa? Please come here.

Melissa-(walking up to him slowly)What? (kinda covering her face like he's gonna hit her)

Billy-Stop.I'm not gonna hit you.I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry that I hit you the other day.I was drunk and I didn't know what I was doing. I had no right to do it and will u forgive me?

Melissa-Why should I believe you? You were hitting me in the stomach while I was pregnant with Lilly. Then you came back and apoligized and i accepted. Then you came back Monday night and shook Lilly like a mad man and then hit me. Then you left and didn't come back till 2 days later. How do I know you're sincere about this one?

Billy-Just give me one more chance. Please? I'm sorry. I'll try to change.I'll do whatever you want me to.

Melissa-Ok. ONE more chance.This is the last time.But, under one condition.

Billy-what is it?

Melissa-You have to go to church with me every Sunday morning and Sunday night.

Billy-Ok.Will do.

(exits stage) (in church with a tape of a sermon playing or a preacher preaching. Billy starts nodding off and hits his head on the back of the pew.)

Melissa-(at home)Yeah you paid a lot of attention to the service today.

Billy-You said I have to go.You never said I had to pay attention.

Melissa-Well,now I am.You have to pay attention too.

(at church) (preacher makes an alter call.Billy walks down and gets saved.)

Melissa-(at home)I'm proud of you.The way you walked down there and confessed of your sins like that.But, you do know that this means no more beer or drugs right?

Billy-Yes.I know. It's gonna be hard but I have a wonderful family that's gonna help me through it.Don't I?

Melissa-Of course.

(curtains close with Billy and Melissa hugging.)
