Masquerade Chapters 34-35
Chapter 34
Brenda has slept most of the way to the Greek island. Since they were about to land, Sonny decided he should wake his sleeping beauty. So, he gently shakes her and calls out her name.
Sonny: Brenda.
Brenda: *Opening her eyes* Where are we?
Sonny: About 120 miles from the island.
Brenda: I can’t believe that I got this far without a passport.
Sonny: My pilot knows how to be desecrate.
Brenda: I would say so. can I ask you a question?
Sonny: I think I know what you are wondering, so go ahead.
Brenda: If you have a private jet, why didn’t you fly Hannah to Switzerland?
That was probably the only question that Sonny wasn’t prepared to answer. He was sure that brenda was going to ask something about Jax.
Sonny: I usually use this plane for business, I guess I didn’t want Hannah to know everything.
Brenda: Why did you bring me on the plane. This isn’t about business, is it?
Sonny: No, it’s not about business. There is more going on here than business.
Brenda: Please don’t try and tell me that you are only feeling guilty about my passport.
Sonny: Brenda, I told you I’m tired of living in the past. I want to live, here in the present.
Brenda: Yes, you told me.
Sonny: I want you here with me, baby. You can’t do that until you can let go of Jax.
Brenda: Jax, might not even want me anymore.
Sonny: I doubt that is true, as long as Jax is drawing breath, he probably wants you, Brenda.
Brenda: Maybe he found someone else and has completely forgotten about me.
Sonny: No woman could make me forget you.
Brenda: Did many women try?
Sonny: A few, but you are unforgettable, at least you have that affect on me, Brenda.
He gives her a quick, but none the less, a sizzling look. Brenda tries to keep her head clear, but he is making it difficult.
Brenda: Okay, for the sake of the argument, lets just say that I find Jax and I want stay with him.
Sonny: It’s your choice. I’d deal with any decision you make.
Brenda: How, by jumping out of this plane without a parachute?
Sonny: There’s an idea.
He flashes her a dimpled smile, which she doesn’t find amusing. A sad look forms in her eyes.
Brenda: Sonny, don’t even joke about something like that.
Sonny: Would you miss me, even if you were with Jax.
Brenda: Even when we aren’t together I still miss you, so I don’t want you to joke about dying.
Sonny: It’s not going to happen. Besides, I know for a fact that you aren’t going to choose Jax.
Brenda: How do you know this for a fact?
Sonny: Because you and I belong together and that is how we are going to end up.
Brenda: It seems like more than an accident that we always end up together.
Sonny: We are each others fate. No matter who comes between us we always find our way back.
Brenda: How long did you say I had before we land?
Sonny: About 15 minutes, why are you starting to get nervous?
Brenda: No, but I need to make myself presentable.
She looks through her purse, trying to find make up and a hair brush.
Sonny: You look just fine, sweetheart.
Brenda: I want to look better than fine. This would be easier if you let me pack!
Sonny: I told you we had to leave before I changed my mind.
Brenda: Yeah, well now I have to make do with what I have on hand.
She starts brushing her hair.
Sonny: Jax is going to be so surprised to see you, he won’t notice how you look.
Brenda: Do, I look that bad?
Sonny: You look beautiful, especially for a dead woman.
He flashes her a dimpled grin, but there is a look of heart felt sincerity in his voice that she can’t help but believe what he says.
Brenda: I really look beautiful?
Sonny: You are beautiful, Brenda.
Brenda: Thank you, Sonny.
Sonny: For stating the obvious?
Brenda: No, for making me believe in what you see.
Sonny: My pleasure, sweetheart.
He kisses her gently on the forehead and watches as she continues to get ready.
Ned and Lois walk into the main dining room at the resort and notice the place is filled almost to capacity.
Ned: The only seats left are at my family’s table. Do you want to skip brunch?
Lois: Too late, Chloe has already spotted us and is waving us over.
Ned: Do you still want to tell everyone about the baby right away?
Lois: We might as well get it over with since everyone is here.
Ned: I guess there is no time like the present.
They walk over to the table.
Lois: Good morning all!
Edward: It is almost noon!
Ned: Is it my imagination or are Jason and Carly MIA?
Chloe: They went on a picnic.
Ned: I guess they don’t have to be present.
Chloe: Lois, is Brenda joining us for brunch?
Lois: I haven’t seen her since last night.
Ned: Funny, I don’t think Sonny came back to our room last night either.
Allan: I think that mystery is simple enough to solve.
Lois: You think Sonny and Brenda were together last night?
Ned: I don’t really care, except that it meant I could have spent the night with you, Lois.
Edward: This isn’t Club Med’s mixed singles!
Ned: Who said anything about being single, Lois is my wife.
Edward: What are you going on about?
Lois: Ned and I are remarried and we are expecting our second child.
A look of pure shock ripples through to group sitting at the Quartermaine table. On the island off of Greece, A cab stops outside of the mansion owned by Alexis Davis. Sonny holds the door open and then asks the cab driver to wait.
Brenda: This may take a while.
Sonny: I know, but I’m just going to get you in the door.
Brenda: You aren’t staying?
Sonny: No, I would rather not watch your reunion with Jax.
Brenda: I guess I can understand that feeling.
Sonny: I’m going to go check in to a hotel, then I’ll come back.
Brenda: If that is really what you want to do with your afternoon.
Sonny: It’s the way it has to be. Are you ready?
Brenda: As ready as I can ever be, I guess.
Sonny leads her to the door and then knocks. They are met by a man servant, who instructs them to wait in a sitting area. When Alexis comes into the room, it is obvious she is surprised to see Sonny.
Alexis: Sonny, what on earth are you doing here?
Sonny: Nice to see you councilor. Have you met Ms. Barrett?
Alexis doesn’t seem to surprised to see Brenda, in fact she acts as if she was expecting her female guest.
Alexis: I read about your return from the dead several weeks ago. I assume you have come about Jax?
Brenda: Yes.
Sonny: I think that is my cue to leave. I’m sure you have a great deal to discuss.
Alexis: Yes, we do, I’m afraid.
Sonny: I’ll see myself out. Alexis, it is always a pleasure.
Brenda: I’ll see you soon, Sonny.
Sonny finds his way out, leaving an awkward silence between Alexis and Brenda.
Alexis: We do not know each other very well, but we have in common the fact that we loved Jax.
Brenda: I don’t understand, isn’t Jax here with you now?
Alexis: Brenda, Jax is dead.
Brenda feels as if someone has just dropped a heavy building on top of her heart, she is crushed.
Brenda: There has to be some mistake?
Alexis: I wish that were true, but Jax is gone.
Brenda: *Blinking back tears* How?
Alexis: He was the victim of the Casadine Curse. My vindictive stepmother killed him in cold blood.
Brenda: Why would anyone want to kill Jax?
Alexis: Probably for no other reason than the fact that I loved Jax.
Brenda: How did it happen?
Alexis: She poisoned him, he died slowly.
Brenda: That is horrible.
Alexis: She wanted to make sure that I watched, and suffered as along with my lover.
Brenda: Couldn’t you help him?
Alexis: I tried, but there was no antidote for the poison.
Brenda: I need to ask you a question. Did Jax murder AJ Quartermaine?
Alexis: No, it was an accident.
Brenda: Jax led susch a double life and he played so many games.
Alexis: True and we planned to take over ELQ, but we never wanted anyone to die.
Brenda: I need to know something else. Did Jax ever really love me or was that a game as well.
Alexis: I knew Jax pretty well, and I can honestly say that he loved you dearly.
Brenda: You don’t know what that means to me at this moment.
Alexis: Think I understand, Jax was special, and he made me feel special as well.
Brenda: He tried to do that with me to. I wish I could have loved him the way he needed.
Alexis: He didn’t care, he gave so much and asked for so little in return.
Both women are shedding tears at this point.
Brenda: How will the world get along without Jax?
Alexis: I don’t even know how I have gotten along without him for the past few months.
Brenda: I need to go somewhere and think.
Alexis: I know the perfect place, it is where I go when things get to be too much to handle.
Brenda: That sounds like just what I need right now.
Alexis: Follow me.
Brenda isn’t sure why, but she trusts Alexis and follows her down a winding path
Jason has led Carly to a small meadow where he has placed a picnic basket and blanket. To Jason it seemed like the perfect secluded place for a lunch date. To Carly, it was a picnic basket in a field.
Carly: This is your idea of a date?
Jason: It is a picnic.
Carly: I know, but why couldn’t we bring Michael?
Jason: Because this is supposed to be about you and me, Carly.
Carly: I know, but what are we going to do here?
He takes her hand and leads her to the blanket.
Jason: Eat and talk, here try this.
He gives her a bite of a sandwich.
Carly: Oh my gosh! Is this egg salad?
Jason looks at the sandwich.
Jason: I think so, at least that is what I ordered.
Carly: Have I ever told you that egg salad is my favorite?
Jason: I don’t think you told me.
Carly: Then how did you know I love egg salad?
Jason: Sonny suggested that you might be the egg salad type.
Carly: When?
Jason: Last night.
Carly: Does it scare you that Sonny seems to know me so well?
Jason: Not really, because I know you better than you think.
Carly: I know but you still love me anyway.
Jason: I know, amazing as it may seem. I’m going to prove how well I know you though.
Carly: How?
Jason: I’m going to let dessert speak for its self. I bet you can’t guess what I brought.
Carly: You mean, you aren’t my dessert?
He pulls out a box and allows her to open the lid.
Jason: Key lime pie.
Carly: Virginia used to make me Key lime pie when I was a little girl in Florida.
Jason: I remember when we were in Florida with Michael, it was all you wanted to eat.
Carly: I wanted Michael to be able to try some.
Jason: He was too young though.
Carly: It wasn’t too bad though, we ate the whole pie ourselves.
Jason: You ate most of it, if I remember correctly.
Carly: I seem to remember us feeding each other with one fork.
Jason: Yeah, until that moment I never knew eating pie could be so.
He searches for the right word, but Carly finds it first.
Carly: Sensual?
Jason: Exactly.
Carly: I hope you only brought one fork.
Jason: I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Jason pulls out a fork and feeds Carly a bite of the Key lime pie.
Carly: Delicious.
Jason: I’m glad you approve.
Carly: Jace, we are pretty good together, don’t you think?
Jason: Yeah, we are most of the time at least.
Carly: Do you ever think we should take our relationship to the next step?
Jason: What exactly is "the next step?"
Carly: I guess that would be us getting married.
Jason: Do you want to get married?
Carly: Are you proposing?
Jason: It was your idea, Carly.
Carly: Forget it then, because I don’t want to get married unless you want to get married.
Jason couldn’t help it, he was just plain confused.
Sonny had returned from checking into his hotel to find Alexis alone in the house. When he had asked about Brenda, Alexis had told him to follow the same path that Brenda had followed earlier. She had also added that Brenda was lucky to have him because she really needed someone’s support. Alexis had made it seem urgent, so he had quickly followed the path. It led him to a small white washed chapel on a high cliff over looking the ocean. Sonny slowly opened a heavy wooden door and stepped across the threshold and into the small church. He could see Brenda sitting on a small bench with her back to the door. He could tell by the way she was holding her body that she was upset. However, he didn’t realize, until she turned around to face him, that she had been crying. She reaches out her hand to him and he quickly moves beside her, allowing her to fall into his arms.
Sonny: What is, sweetheart?
Brenda tries to choke back tears, as she takes a minute to compose herself.
Brenda: Jax is dead, Helena Casadine killed him, he was poisoned.
Sonny: I’m sorry Brenda. I didn’t know or I would never have brought you here.
Brenda: No, you were right to bring me here. I was hanging on to a past that didn’t exist.
Sonny: Sometimes the past is all we have left.
He strokes her hair lovingly, trying everything he can think of to calm her down. Brenda felt so safe in his arms, but it occurred to her that it might not be security she was feeling. Maybe, Sonny holding her, loving her and comforting her brought out feelings of familiarity, not safety. However, she had to admit that it was a good feeling. Somehow Sonny was able to take away some of her pain and make her feel protected.
Brenda: I don’t want to hang on to the past anymore. I want more, I want a future with you, Sonny.
Sonny: Brenda, you don’t have to say this now. I know you are probably feeling a million emotions.
Brenda: Yes, but I know how I feel about you. I love you and I want to be with you, Sonny.
Sonny: Are you sure, after all that has happened?
Brenda: I’m sure.
She looks up at him with so much love in her eyes that he can hardly speak.
Sonny: *Whispering* I’m glad you feel that way, because I want us to get married.
Brenda: Now?
Sonny: Yes! Do you know today’s date?
Brenda: I have to admit that I’ve kind of lost track of dates.
Sonny: I haven’t, today is September 19th. I remembered when I was checking into the hotel.
Brenda: We were supposed to be married on this date, two years ago.
Sonny: Yes, I made the biggest mistake of my life that night, I won’t loose you again.
Brenda: You never really lost me, Sonny.
Sonny: Then, what do you say, will you marry me today?
Brenda gives him a completely blank look, which isn’t the reaction he wanted.
Brenda: There are so many reasons why we shouldn’t get married, Sonny.
Sonny: Okay, I’m willing to listen to you’re reasons. Maybe I can change your mind.
Brenda: How do you plan on changing my mind?
Sonny: Well, I can start by pouring on my irresistible charm.
Brenda: Sonny, I am able to resist your charm when I want.
Sonny: Why waste your energy when us being together is inescapable?
Brenda: Well, first of all, we would be married right now if you hadn’t of left me two years ago.
Sonny: True, like I have told you so many times, that was the biggest mistake of my life.
Brenda: Maybe, but I have been back for almost a month and I don’t see proof that you’ve changed.
Sonny: What about what happened last night? I thought that meant something, Brenda.
Brenda: Of course it meant something.
Sonny: Just not enough? Because it meant everything to me, sweetheart.
He takes her hands in his, sending a surge of desire sailing through her whole body. Sonny takes advantage of the feeling he knows they share and leans into kiss her. She doesn’t pull away or fight him as she allows him to shower her with a lingering kiss. Finally she pulls back, determined not to let him confuse her or throw her off balance.
Brenda: Sonny, don’t try to muddle my emotions.
Sonny: I’m not trying to confuse you Brenda.
Brenda: Maybe not, but you have that affect on me without trying.
Sonny: I feel the same. last night I experienced an amazing declaration of love.
Brenda: I know, sometimes my feelings for you are overwhelming.
Sonny: Then trust those feeling, Brenda.
Brenda: I’ve never been good at trusting what I feel, I want to do the right thing.
Sonny: This is right. Brenda, you are the only woman I have ever loved.
Brenda: Our love is such a powerful force that sometimes I wonder if we can keep it together.
Sonny: We can do anything together. You make my life better, you make me a better person.
Brenda: I’m not sure that you’re ready to commit to us 100%.
Sonny: I’m convinced that we will spend the rest of our lives together.
Brenda: It doesn’t have to be this week or this month, if we are meant to be together we will be together.
Sonny: We are meant to be together, right now.
Brenda: I don’t understand your hurry, why can’t I make sure this is the right thing.
Sonny: If you don’t know, at this moment, it’s right then I don’t know what to say.
Brenda: Say that you’ll wait for me, Sonny.
Sonny: Look, you’re the one in my heart and in my soul, but I’ve waited to long.
Brenda: What are you saying, if I don’t marry you today, I loose you?
Sonny: I’ve told you I love and need you time and again. If you don’t get it by now, you never will.
Brenda: This sounds a lot like the choice Jax gave me the first time we married.
Sonny: I didn’t plan this as an ultimatum. We’ve been walking down the aisle for years Brenda.
Brenda: I know, we have been through so much together, Sonny.
Sonny: My point exactly, I can’t patiently wait for you to decide what you want anymore.
He stands up to leave.
Brenda: It is that easy for you to walk away?
Sonny: I will always love you, but I won’t live in the past even for you, Brenda.
Sonny walks towards the door, slowly and painfully. Each step breaks his heart, but he knows that he can’t turn back unless he has some reassurance from Brenda. He has waited for her for so long, that he can’t stand the thought of waiting one more minute to be with his soul mate. He would rather walk away for good. For her part, Brenda is too stunned by the turn of events to take any action to stop Sonny from leaving. Brenda loved him with every breath in her body, but she wasn’t sure she could commit.

Lopez stood on the balcony of his and Hannah’s hotel room in Switzerland. He wasn’t sure how she was able to talk him into helping her with her insane schemes, especially when he had his own problems. Actually, he knew very well why he helped her, it was because of the way she used her body to incite him. He knew it was a power trip for her, but ever since Lily Corinthos had taken over the life of Hannah Scott she had become an irresistible seductress. Lopez’s only regret was that she insisted on wasting her talents on Sonny, a man who would never fully appreciate her skills. His cell phone rings and he picks it up right away. He had been expecting Cesar Faison’s call for several days.
Lopez: Hello?
Faison: Lopez, where are you at this very moment?
Lopez: Not that I is any of your business, but I’m in Switzerland.
Faison: Do you take your role in the Cartel seriously? Because you can be replaced.
Lopez: You know better, you need me. However, I have a cover to maintain.
Faison: Well, the party is over, you must return to the island immediately!
Lopez: You want me on the island, not in Port Charles?
Faison: I’m about to send Spencer with another shipment of diamonds. I need you to meet him.
Lopez: If I return to the island so soon it might raise suspicions.
Faison: Well, I can’t meet him myself. It has to be you, or the deal is off.
Lopez: Fine, I’ll go myself. When is Spencer arriving this time?
Faison: When I contact him later today I will give him 2 days.
Lopez: That gives me more warning than last time. I was barely able to get in place before he arrived.
Faison: Perhaps if you didn’t allow your attention to be diverted by brunettes?
Lopez: *Angry* I’ll be in touch!
He abruptly hangs up on Faison. This was exactly the reaction that Cesar was hopping to receive from Lopez. It confirmed what he suspected all along, Lopez was with a woman. A brunette woman and that female could only be Brenda Barrett, or so Faison had convinced himself. He dials a different number and waits for an answer.
Faison: Lopez is in Switzerland with Barrett. Find them and memorize what she looks like, then kill her!
He hangs up the phone and a self satisfied smile crosses his face. This woman was taking too much of Lopez’s time and energy, but that situation would soon come to a chilling end for miss Barrett.
Hannah has just walked back into the room she is sharing with Lopez in Switzerland.
Lopez: Are you done shopping so soon?
Hannah: Yes, I think I have spent enough of the Agency’s money for one day.
Lopez: Where are all the bags?
Hannah: They are being sent up to the room. Is something wrong?
Lopez: I have to leave for an assignment. Do you have Sonny’s cell phone number?
Hannah: Yes, of course.
Lopez: I suggest that you call him right away and let him know you are returning to Port Charles.
Hannah: Should I tell him about the baby?
Lopez: I wouldn’t tell him over the phone, unless you feel that you really must let the cat out of the bag.
Hannah: Okay, I’ll call him right away. Is this assignment of yours dangerous?
Lopez: Of course not, Querida. Make the call to Corinthos.
Carly and Jason had sat in silence for sometime, before he decided he couldn’t take it any longer.
Jason: Carly, I don’t know what you want from me, but if it is marriage than just say the word.
Carly: Is it really your worst nightmare to become my husband?
Jason: Not really, but you were married to AJ and it was your worst nightmare.
Carly: The difference is that I hated AJ from the minute I said "I Do."
Jason: So marriage doesn’t always equal happiness.
Carly: Did you ever think about marrying Robin?
Jason: I gave her a ring.
Carly: An engagement ring?
Jason: Not really, but she gave it back when she left for Paris.
Carly: But you were willing to commit to Robin and have a future with her?
Jason: She always wanted me to try and imagine our future, but I couldn’t see what would happen.
Carly: Is is the same way with us?
Jason: No, I think our future will be you me and Michael as a family, just like we are now.
Carly: You don’t ever see us married?
Jason: If being married is that important to you, then we will get married.
Carly: Why isn’t it import to you, Jace?
Jason: Maybe because I don’t need a piece of paper to validate our relationship.
Carly: I guess you’re right. Maybe some people have to get married, but we don’t.
Jason: I’m glade you said that, because I really like things the way they are right now.
Carly: Can we go back to our cottage now and feed Michael lunch, because I miss our son.
Jason: I miss him too, let go back.
He helps Carly to her feet and they gather up the picnic basket and food.
Sonny was siting on the a small wall over looking the ocean. He couldn’t believe that Brenda had just let him walk away without a fight. He wasn’t about to do the same for her, somehow he was going to fight for Brenda’s love. He was carefully pondering his next move when his cell phone rang and startled him out of his thoughts.
Sonny: Hello, Corinthos speaking.
Hannah: Sonny’s it’s Hannah.
Sonny: Hannah? I can hardly hear you, the connection must be bad.
Hannah: *Yelling* Where are you? Are you in Port Charles?
Sonny: No, *He hesitates* I’m someplace else.
He didn’t want to have to explain why he was on and island off of Greece. He also didn’t want to compromise the safety of Alexis by allowing too many people to know where she was hiding. Now that Jax was dead, there was a good chance that Alexis could return to the states without being prosecuted or persecuted. However, the way that Jax had died bothered Sonny more than he was willing to admit to Brenda. If Helena was willing to poison Jax just to hurt Alexis, she might be willing to kill any and all of them just for the sheer joy.
Hannah: What was that, I didn’t understand you.
Sonny: Where are you Hannah?
Hannah: I’m on my way home. I have something very important to tell you, Sonny.
Sonny: Good, we have a lot to discus, some things have changed since you left.
Hannah didn’t like the sound of that at all and in a panic she lets out her secrete and plays the only card she has in her hand.
Hannah: Sonny, I’m pregnant. We’re going to have a child.
Before she can hear Sonny’s reaction, the line goes dead.
Lopez: What did he say?
Hannah: I don’t know, the line went dead. I’m not even sure that he heard my announcement.
Sonny stares at the phone, wondering what the last thing was that Hannah had said. There was so much static that he hadn’t caught her last statement. He wonders about it for less than half a second and then goes back to trying to figure out his relationship with Brenda. Alexis walks into the chapel and finds Brenda all alone.
Alexis: Has it helped you to be here.
Brenda: I’m not sure what I was looking for in here.
Alexis: Actually, someone was looking for you. I thought he might be able to help you.
Brenda: You mean Sonny?
Alexis: Yes, but I guess I was wrong because you look more lost than ever.
Brenda: Do you know where Sonny went?
Alexis: I passed him on the way here. He is sitting on the edge of the cliff looking like he might jump.
Brenda: *Startled* Really?
Alexis: Maybe not, but he looks pretty deep in thought.
Brenda: He insists that he loves me more than life itself.
Alexis: I take it that you don’t share that feeling?
Brenda: I love him at least that much, but I don’t think he has changed.
Alexis: Changed in what way?
Brenda: I’m not sure that I can trust him.
Alexis: You trusted him to bring you here though?
Brenda: Yes, the fact that he brought me here says something. But can I trust him with my heart?
Alexis: I have no idea, but you say that you don’t think he has changed?
Brenda: He hasn’t shown me he is different from the man who left me at the altar.
Alexis: So you figure you will return the favor and leave him a jilted lover.
Brenda: It would be the least I could do for someone who has broken my heart more than once.
Alexis: What difference does it make what he did in the past?
Brenda: You sound like Sonny, wanting to leave that past in the past.
Alexis: Maybe that is where it belongs. You know that Jax killed AJ right?
Brenda: Yes, of course, that is why I came here to listen to his side of the story.
Alexis: I didn’t care that Jax was a killer. I loved him anyway, our love was all that mattered to me.
Brenda: Things are so complicated between Sonny and me, though.
Alexis: Do you think that Sonny brought you here because he missed Jax?
Brenda: No, he brought me here so I could face the past and embrace the future.
Alexis: Forget the future, you have to accept the present and part of that means accepting Sonny.
Brenda: What about his faults?
Alexis: I don’t know you too well, but I’ll bet you are far from perfect.
Brenda: Of course I’m not perfect.
Alexis: Then you and Sonny seem like a match made in heaven.
Brenda: Maybe, but for your information Sonny brought me here because he felt responsible for me!
Alexis: In what way?
Brenda: Sonny had my passport revoked, so he had to fly me here in his private jet.
Alexis: Have you thought about how you are going to get home if you dump Casanova?
Brenda hadn’t considered that scenario.
Brenda: I can find my own way home.
Alexis: You don’t even know whaere you are and you don’t have a passport.
Brenda: I think I need to go have a word or two with Sonny.
Alexis: Just follow the path to the cliff overlooking the ocean.
Brenda: *Miffed* I’ll do that.
Alexis: More importantly, you might think about following your heart.
Brenda follows the pathway until it ends at a ledge over looking the ocean. She more than slightly disappointed when she finds that Sonny isn’t there anymore. He had told her he was walking away, she assumes that he made good on his threat. She sits down and desperately tries to figure out how on earth she is going to get home. She feels like throwing something or crying, but she finally gets a hold of herself and decides that she made it off of that island near Chile and home to Port Charles. She can make it off of this island and home again. Then again, she really doesn’t have to go home, she can always stay on the island with Alexis. Sonny can live his own life in Port Charles with Hannah or whomever her chooses.
Brenda: That will teach you to go off and leave me, Sonny Corinthos!
Actually, Sonny hadn’t gone very far, just down the edge of the cliff and up the beach. He thought maybe walking along the surf would help him to think. It really hadn’t, all it did was remind him of how much he hated the ocean. Some people liked the smell of the sea air, but to him it reeked of dead fish. He also didn’t like the waves washing in and out. He didn’t find them soothing at all, they agitated him immensely. He figured that he had screwed up immensely by asking Brenda to marry him on the spot. He thought the act was spontaneous and romantic, but Brenda hadn’t seemed to agree. Now he had no choice, he was going to have to go back to Port Charles and marry Hannah.
