Affairs of the Heart Chapter 11

	The next morning Sonny woke before Brenda. They had their arms tightly wrapped around each other. He looked down at her and could not help but smile. He had woken up in the arms of the woman he loved more than life itself and he had felt the baby kicking twice during the night. He could not remember ever being so happy, in that moment everything was perfect. He held Brenda’s body closer and he felt the baby kick again. Brenda stirred in his arms and opened her eyes.

B: Good morning.
S: I was just lying here thinking how perfect everything is and just wishing for one thing, and what do you know, you open your eyes and my wish comes true.
B: The baby woke me up.
S: Are you hungry?
B: No not really, I just want to lie here in your arms for a while longer. I wish that this didn’t have to end.
S: It won’t end. Not ever, we are going to be waking up in each others arms until we are both 99 years old.
B: I always feel so safe in your arms, like we can’t be touched by the outside world. I wish we could stay in this bed forever.
S: I think we would have to leave sooner or later to go to the hospital to deliver the baby.
B: I guess you’re right. And I guess we will have to leave it today to go back to Port Charles with Lois and Jason
S: True, but I think we have a little time before we have to leave for the Cerullo’s. Got any ideas how we can spend that time? *He starts kissing her neck and then her mouth. Brenda smiles.*

Outside of Port Charles in a small sleazy motel room Luke Spencer is questioning an old "friend", Johnny "the scribe" Corelie. Luke has him tied to a chair, while one of Sonny’s men holds a gun on him and another of them holds a bright light over Johnny’s head. To say that Johnny is sweating it is understatement.

Lu: Now Johnny we are friends aren’t we, and we have known each other for a few years, haven’t we ? 
Johnny nods his head in the affirmative
Jn: *Meekly* Yes
Lu: Well, I don’t like being treated badly by my friends, so you want to tell me why you sold me out.
Johnny doesn’t say anything. Luke nods to Red, who is holding the gun. Red removes the safety catch and hold the gun to Johnny’s temple.
Lu: Now Johnny, your the best and I would hate for the world to have to live without your services. NOW TALK!
Jn: All right, I’ll tell  you. What do you want to know.?
Lu: First of all, why did you sell me out, what did you tell them and who did you tell.
Jn: I am not sure who they were, they came and asked if I had an order in the works for you. I said I was working on some paper for a young man and woman.
Lu: Did they ask the documents were for?
Jn: Yeah, I told them I didn’t know. You were going to handle the pictures.
Lu: But they thought they documents were for Sonny Corinthos?
Jn: What, no way, Corinthos is dead. 
Luke, and Red look at each other. Luke could tell that Johnny wasn’t lying about believing Sonny was dead. News travels slowly in some parts of the underworld, especially when you’re hiding out the way Johnny had been hiding.
Lu: Okay, if not Corinthos than who did they think they were for, me and the Misuses? 
Johnny hesitates a minute.
Jn: Jason Morgan. They were convinced that your were helping Morgan.
Lu: Helping Morgan do what?
Jn: Skip out with the organizations money. They figure that Morgan offed Corinthos, took over his position and was just waiting until the moment was right to grab the money and disappear with his girlfriend..
Luke started laughing and he slapped Johnny on the back. 
Lu:That is good, that really is a classic. Then he turns to Red.
Lu: Get him out of here. He makes me sick. Do with him whatever you please.
Red unties Johnny and roughly takes him out. Luke lights up a cigar and thinks for a minute. 
Lu: Well, I guess I had better go back to the club, call Corinthos and then find a new forger.  
 
At the Cerullo’s Jason is waiting for Lois to finish packing so that they can leave for Port Charles. Lois is busy packing last minuet things so Jason is feeding Brooke Lynne her morning cereal. 

J: You know Brooke, this stuff is not really that bad.
Brooke babbles something
J: Yeah, well you have never had Poi. It’s this stuff from Hawaii, Sonny made it one time. It has no taste. I asked him, why eat this stuff, it doesn’t taste like anything.
Brooke babbles some more.
J: Exactly my point.
Joseph sits in a corner and tries not to laugh. There is a knock at the door. Joseph answers it to Sonny and Brenda.
Jo: Hi boss, how ya feeling?
S: Better, thanks
B: Hi  Jason
J: Hello
Brenda goes over to Brooke
B: How’s my favorite godchild?
S: Where’s Lois
J: She’s packing a few things. You guys ready to go Back to Port Charles?
S: Our stuff is in the car
B: Oh my gosh! Brooke is actually eating her cereal and not just throwing it around the room!
J: That is because I did not make it too sweet. Lois always makes it too sweet. *Lois has just walked in the room.
L: I make what too sweet?
J: Brooke’s cereal.
L: Yeah, and I suppose she told you this herself?
J: Yes, she did. Why, don’t you ever listen to her?
Lois, Brenda and Sonny all look at Jason and then at Brooke. She looks like she is waiting for the answer.
S: Jason can you understand Brooke Lynne?
J: Of course, can’t you?
S: No
B: No
L: I wish I could, but you got her to eat and for that I am grateful.
S: You ready to go?
L: All  set
J: Joseph, take Lois’ bags out to the car
Jo: Sure *He picks up the bags*
L: Well Corinthos you sure look chipper for a man that was just shot.
S: Thanks, I have never felt better. *He smiles at Brenda*
L: Come here Bren *She gives Brenda a hug. Then she turns to Sonny* You take good care of her, Okay?
S: Always.
L: I am going to miss you so much Bren.
B: Lois, you don’t have to miss me. We’re going with you.
L: What are you talking about, why are you going back to Port Charles?
S: Don’t worry about that. So Brooke, how would you like to have your godmother and "Uncle" Sonny around for a while?
Brooke babbles something and then throws her cereal, nearly missing Sonny. Everyone looks at Jason.
J: She is happy, but she doesn’t want any Poi.
L: Poi?

Joseph sticks his head back in the kitchen.

Jo: The car is loaded.
J: Okay, is everyone ready?
L: Anyone need the bathroom? Brooke or Brenda that means you two.
B: I do
S: Honey you just went at the loft and it is only 10 blocks to the airport.
B: Sonny I am pregnant!
L: You heard her
S: Okay Brenda, go!
Brenda comes back in a few minutes.
J: Okay, any body else?
No response.
S: Okay, then lets roll.
Sonny holds the door open while everyone leaves. He looks around the kitchen one last time, turns off the light and closes and locks the door.

Later

Sonny, Brenda. Lois, Jason and Brooke Lynne are in the Limo on their way to the airport. They have been traveling for about 30 minutes, which Sonny thinks is to long.

S: The airport is not that far from the house what is taking so long?
L: Relax Corinthos, you know New York, we have probably had to take a detour or something. Why don’t you take a nap like Jason and Brooke, and we’ll be at the airport before you know what’s happening.
S: I don’t want to take a nap. 
He uses the intercom to call up to Pete and Joseph
J: Yeah boss?
S: Why aren’t we at the airport yet?
J: Sorry boss, we were detoured.
Sonny turns off the intercom
L: See, I told ya we were detoured.
S: Don’t get cute Cerullo.
B: Hey guys, don’t start fighting.
Just then Brenda’s cell phone rings.
B: Hello? Oh, hi Robin.
R: Brenda, I have been trying to call you for over a week. Are you okay?
B: Yeah, I’m fine. I must have turned my phone off or something.
For security reasons, Sonny had asked Brenda and Jason not use their phones while the group were in hiding at the safe house.
R: I tried calling the Cerullo’s too, and couldn’t get any answer there  either.
B: We all went to the country for a while. *She wasn’t lying, they had all been in the country, at the safe house. Brenda tries to change the subject*  How are you Robin? You have been home for a month and I haven’t gotten to see you yet.
R: I am doing really good. Brenda are you sure everything is all right?
B: Yes Robin everything is better than all right. We are coming home, me, Lois, Brooke, Jason and….*She starts to say Sonny, but he shakes his head "No"*
R: Jason is there? Can I talk to him? I think that Luke knows something about him. Is Jason Okay?
B: Jason is fine. He is asleep though. You can talk to him when we get back. We have so much we need to tell you Robin. But We want to tell you in person. We will be home tonight
R: That sounds like bad news.
B: No honey, it is very good news. I will talk to you and see you soon. Bye for now. 
Robin hangs up the phone. She has a puzzled look on her face. Luke comes up to her.
L: Did you get Brenda on the phone?
R: Yes, finally. She is coming home with Jason, Brooke, Lois and somebody else. She says she has news to tell me.
L: Well, I think that calls for a celebration.
Robin doesn’t understand why Luke wants to celebrate. Does he know something that she doesn’t? Maybe Jason and Brenda are in love, and they are finally going to tell her. Maybe Jason is really the father of  Brenda’s child. Robin had never really bought Jason and Brenda’s story explaining how Sonny could be the father. Robin was not sure how she felt about the idea of her best friend and the man she loved being romantically involved. She was just going to have to wait until this evening to find out what Brenda and Jason had to tell her.

Affairs of the Heart Chapter 12

Brenda hangs up the phone.
S: How is she?
B: She says she is doing good. I think I worried her though.
S: I ‘m sorry, but Jason never got the chance to tell her that I am alive and I really think it is something she should learn face to face.
B: I agree completely.
S: Then why do you look so upset sweetheart? *Sonny reaches up to caress her face*
B: It’s not that. I need to use the bathroom again.
S: What, we just left the house 45 minutes ago.
B: I’m sorry Sonny. It’s  pressure from the baby, it just happens. Do you think we could find a gas station or something?
Sonny activates the intercom.
S: Pete, exit at the next off ramp and find a gas station
P: Sure boss.
They take the next off ramp, which is covered in graffiti. They find a little mom and pop’s run gas station in a kind of rural area. Sonny opens the door and looks around at the country setting.
S: How did we get here?
J: The detour
Brenda jumps out of the car and runs into the gas station. Pop’s is at the cash register.
B: I need the key to the ladies room please.
P: Sure, what are you going to buy?
B: What?
P: The bathroom is for customers only. You got to buy something first, then I will give you the key.
B: Look I am pregnant and I need to pee, so give me the key.
P: Right after you buy something.
Brenda smiles.
B: Hold on one second. *She goes back outside.*
A pale blue Jaguar has just pulled up. Loud music is blaring from it’s speakers. A young kid, about 15 gets out of the car.
L: *To Sonny* How does a kid like that end up with that kind of car?
S: He probably deals drugs. He might as well have a sign painted on it that reads "Come ruin your life here."
L: Sonny Corinthos, you are the last person I would expect to jump to conclusions about a person..
Brenda comes back to the car.
B: Sonny that man will not give me the key to the restroom. He says we have to buy something.
S: Okay, lets go see what we can do.
Sonny, Brenda and Lois all go into the gas station. They leave Jason and Brooke asleep in the car. Lois is looking around the small conveyance store. Joseph comes in and asks for the key to the men’s room. Sonny gives him a look. Joseph just shrugs.
J: I might as well go while we are here.
P: What are you buying?
J: Pete just filled up the gas tank and the reserve tank
S: What? *He is a little miffed* We’re just going to the airport and then the car is just going to sit there unused!
P: I need some money for the gas
B: Sonny give the man his money now, or I am not going to make it to the ladies room.
Brenda is jumping up and down now. Pete has just come into the store to see what is taking so long. No one has looked outside in about 5 minutes. Sonny shoves money at Pop’s.
S: Here! 
Pops hands Brenda the key and she races out.
Lois looks outside.
L: Oh my gosh! SONNY WHERE IS THE CAR?
Sonny looks out startled. The Jag is still there, but the kid and the limo are both gone.
S: What the H#ll! It’s gone. THAT PUNK STOLE MY LIMO!
Lois and Sonny run out and bump into Brenda. Lois is hysterical now.
L: He stole Brooke and Jason too!
Sonny is running towards the Jaguar.
S: Come on Lois!
They both run to the car with Brenda scooting after them. Sonny and Lois get in the front seat and Brenda gets in the back seat. They all put on their seat belts.
S: Keys. Keys! He took the keys, he is smarter than I gave him credit for!
Luckily Sonny knows where the spare set is. He reaches under the dash and presses a button. The spare set falls out of  a compartment
L: Sonny lets go. He has my Baby!
Sonny peels out after the limo
