NEW YORK (Sun News Services) -- Lead singer of Aussie rock group silverchair is being accused of harassment by a woman who apprently leads a double life.

An Australian woman named Emily Spencer applied for an apprehended violence order in Newcastle, Australia, claiming Daniel Johns, 20, threatened to kill her with a gun he purchased in the U.S., according to an Australian Associated Press report.

Johns and his band silverchair are currently on the cross-Canada Edgefest tour, which stops at Calgary's Race City Speedway today.

Johns signed a sworn statement saying he had never made any threats, inderectly or directly, to her and he didn't know the woman, AP reports.

The Newcastly Herald reported the woman who filed the complaint was not named Emily Spencer, but a roadworks traffic controller named Jodie Anne-Maree Barnes. The band's manager told MTV News the allegation is groundless.
