Warp Drive
Warp drive was invented by Dr. Zefrem Cochrane in 2163.
Warp drive is the ability to travel faster than the speed of light. This is done by the process described.
There is one main part of the Warp drive propullsion system. This is two elongated parts of a starship, that are placed in the back of a starship, called nacelles. The nacelles of a starship conduct a highly powerfull electromagnetic field that envelops the entire ship. The field is conducted by plasma accompanied by futuristic components that replaced Dr. Cochranes orignal model, and is kept in tune by Dilithium crystals. This field then bends, or warps, the surrounding area of space. This then changes the fabric' of space, allowing the ship to propell itself foward, backward, up, or down. There is a force field that encompases the ship to provent from being thown into a bulckhead called the interia dampeners, which dampent the law of inertia.
Each warp factor is a multipule of the speed of light, warp ten being the fastest. Warp 10, also known as Transwarp drive, requires enfineite amounts of energy,this would allow a ship to reach all points in space simotaeneously. This feet was accomplished by Thomas Eugene Paris of the StarshipVoyager, but he then experienced odd mutations, so the use of Transwarp onVoyager was out of the question.
