Cait
Cait is the second planet of 12 orbiting a moderate-sized yellow star.
There are two moons: Rea and Sura. Cait is the only habitable planet in
the system. There is an asteroid belt between the fifth and sixth planets,
containing a wealth of ores and valuable minerals, thus making Cait
vulnerable to attacks.
Caitians and the war-like Kzinti share common roots, comparable to Vulcans
and Romulans. The Caitians are fierce warriors when so called upon, but
they pride themselves on their accomplishments in the arts and philosophy,
not the martial arts.
Caitians are very cooperative and intelligent. They have excellent hearing
and are good swimmers; they greatly enjoy water. When a Caitian mates, it
is for life and the family (called a pride) stays togehter. Their bodies
are sleek and lean, possessing greater strength than one would imagine.
Their language is a multiple set of tones spoken with a deep purring
resonance. The more excited they are, the more pronounced the purr-like
quality to their voice.
