Long-Wire SW Antenna

Go down to Radio Shack and buy some copper wire, the best thing to buy is the longwire sw kit that cost about $10. If not just about any kind of copper wire will work.

You will need

143 ft for 1.6 - 4.5 MHz
57 ft for 4.5 - 12 MHz
22 ft for 12 - 29.999 MHz

To select the length of wire you want just use the half wave length formula.

468 divided by the frequency in MHz gives you the length in feet. EX: if you want to how long the wire needs to be for 27 mhz just take 468/27 = 17 feet

Just string the antenna between two objects I use 25 feet strung across my roof top. Just use some lead in wire conect it the end of the wire and run the other end of the lead in the radio thats it!

-Note Buying the Radio Shack kit is a real good idea for this project.
