First of all, a little about me. My name is Mike. I was born in Alabama, and now live in Aiken, South Carolina. It is a wonderful city located near the Georgia / South Carolina state line. I am a career police officer and I am currently the chief of police on a college campus. I enjoy this type of police work , and do not miss working the streets. It gets kind of dangerous out there.
I am also a certified black belt karate instructor in the World Tang Soo Do Association,. This is more than just karate to me. It does take a lot of my time but is very rewarding in so many ways. It also helps keep me in shape, and at 48 I need all the help I can get!
I also teach RAD (rape aggression defense), a womens only self defense course. It is an excellant course and is taught at over 350 colleges and universities in the US and Canada. I feel fortunate to be one of the approximately 2000 nationaly certified instructors.
Another hobby of mine is target shooting. I have several pistols and revolvers and reload my own ammo. I know many people don't like guns, but guns don't kill, it is the idiot behind it! I practice gun safety and have taught my son the same.
