Eddie, who was tall and thin,
and looked like a chimpanzee,
took Audrey Hepburn-Rushton
to the prom when she was sixteen.
He danced one dance with her,
spilled a cup of punch on himself,
and then slipped out to smoke,
leaving her crying.
I comforted her,
but wished I'd followed him,
