IRLVSIRC
- I am like an exchange student being
picked up at the airport.
Everyone greets me
and I soon overcome my limited knowledge
of their language and we talk about nothing
and I forget that I am not
one of them.
- I am like a belle arriving late to the ball.
Everyone notices my
arrival and greets me
and we talk about nothing and I am beautiful
even
though I am wearing scruffy jeans and a T-shirt and glasses.
- I am like an alcoholic walking into his favorite pub. Before I can
even say hello, the regulars greet me and we all talk about nothing as the
bartender serves me a drink.
...
- The customs official looks me over and questions me and notices that
I am different and asks me why I am here.
- The man standing awkwardly behind the punch bowl suddenly looks at me
and doesn't see my evening gown and asks me why I am here.
- The old drunk at the end of the bar suddenly takes his eyes off the
puddle of beer in front of him and asks me why I am here.
...
- I have to tell him I don't know.
- I have to tell him I don't know.
- I have to tell him I don't know.
