It
was nice Christmas morning when we decide to go
in Tribunj - small place near Sibenik. Few days
ago we heard about galley that is moored in that
port. Of course it is not a real old boat from
that time, but copy made for movie. Anyway we
wanted to take a few pictures and felt a spirit
of old times.
Beautiful
old part of Tribunj is located on small and low
island. On the top of island there is a St.Nicolas
church built in 1452 with about hundred houses.
Streets between them are so narrow, that they are
invisible from the see side. Island is connected
with coast by small bridge.
Place was built in 15th
century by refugees from inland. Almost whole
island is surrounded by promenade – Riva. Port
is placed in narrow channel between island and
coast.
The ship was built a few
years ago. After the movie was made, ship was
sold, and today is used as a tourist boat. Last
summer it was possible to see this galley in
Dubrovnik. Tourists on the ship were dressed in
folk costume.
