Redd, James Eugene, Sr. died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Greenville County, he was the son of late James Franklin and Martha Hostetler Redd. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, 95th Army Division, serving under General Patton in Normandy Beach Head and Iron Men Metez of France. He also received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and four major battle star medals.
