Ebenezer Church holds traditional Camp Meeting on May 19, 2001
We are reviving for one day, the praise, worship, fellowship, and music experience of this Methodist tradition.
Please join us as our guests and enjoy the day to renew and enrich your Christian faith.
Camp Meeting Day
Begins with a Continental Breakfast (7:30am) as we gather together and select family "tent" sites where your family and friends will share your picnic lunch.
Opening Devotional Service
Held outside at 8:30am by Dr. L.D. Jordan with singing of favorite Cokesbury Hymns and special music.
Fellowship and Singing
Follows at 9:30am along with new and old gospel tunes sung by Bill Quinton.
Worship Service and Communion
To be held in sanctuary at 11:00am by Dr. Gareth Scott, District Superintendent, Greenville District, South Carolina Conference.
Lunch and Musical Interlude
Begins at 12:15pm. Bring your favorite picnic lunch to share with family and friends. Music will feature favorite old songs by a special group from Simpsonville First Freewill Baptist Church, and a local men's quartet. (Ebenezer will serve lunch to guest speakers, visiting choirs and musicians only)
Afternoon Closing Worship Service
Will be held outdoors on the deck at 2:15pm by Rev. Jerry Hill, Buncombe Street UMC. Youth choirs of Wesley Chapel UMC and Ebenezer UMC will bring the day to a close.
In the spirit of early Camp Meetings, you will need to bring lawn chairs for outdoor services. Guests are encouraged to set up a family picnic site in specially designated areas with blankets, chairs, tables, and tents if desired. Church members will be available to lend a hand.
Ebenezer UMC members will be offering a springtime fare of home baked goods at the Bake Sale Table and home grown plants at the Plant Sale, a favorite with the neighborhood community for several years.
