I am a decendent of James Trousdale preseumed son of William &______, b 1753(Funk), d Maury Co, Tenn. early 1820; married 30 Nov 1787 (Marr Bonds) Sarah Elizabeth Faucett (now spelled Fawcett), b orange Co. NC, d near Columbia Tenn ante 1830.
He lived adjacent to or with William, the father, on the west side of the Haw; James Stockard, presumed brother-in-law, was bondsman to James; marriage and later sold him land; James Trousdale migrated to Tennessee settling in the same area with William, Jr. and the Stockards. Initially the couple lived in Orange Co, NC where the eldest children were born. In 1797 James Sotckard sold James Trousdale 113 acres on the west side of the Haw. In Census 1800 James, living in Orange District, Orange Co, NC had a family comprised of 7 children. On 20 Oct 1807 James sold his 113 acres to Henry Albright (Orange Co. Deeds) and moved the following year with his family to Maury Co, Tennessee (Columbia, TN) settling on a homstead eight miles South of Columbia Ferrell). In 1809 he was on jury duty in the December Court and again in 1819 (Maury County COurt minutes). James' will, signed 6 June 1816, names all of the children below listed (Maury Co Prob). In census 1820 Sarah "Trousal" is head of the family then consisting of mailes: three 16/26; females: one over 45, four under 16. She is not found in Census 1830. Note: Sarah Elizabeth Faucett was probably the daughter of William F. Faucett who died in OrangeCo, NC in 1785 (Wills). In 1790 William, her brother, lived in Chatham District, Orange Co having 310 acres.
