11 say Peter and family became members of the Society of Friends (Quakers)
later on after they settled in Long land in 1653 where he bought Oyster
Bay from the Indians. Alice: Peter was of the Kelvestone branch of Wright
and his wife, Alice Wright, was of the Kelvedon branch. NYGBR Vol. 3 p.37-
Alice was active, energetic and prominent member of the little community
(Oyster bay). She survived her husband (Peter) and married Richard
Crab.

N.C. Geiry Wright served in the French and Indian war, of 1755 to
1763, in one of several Colonial Provinces of that day. He and his wife,
Catherine took refuge in the Moravian Church, South at Bethenia and Bethabara,
where Winston-Salem stand in the 20th Century for protection from the Indians.
He was a trusted agent of the King's Governor and was prominent in the
upbuilding Rowan Co., N.C. Catherine: Catherine Wright was a great-great
granddaughter of Jonathan Wright and was one of the first settlers in Long
Island, New York. Her mother was an Enyart. Jonathan Wright was from Flushing,
Long Island, N.Y.

12 surviving children moved to what was then known as Chariton, Co., Mo.
He purchased land from the U.S. Gov. and as the new county of Randolph
was being formed he gave a quarter of his land to form the county-seat.
A family letter written by Johnaton Haines and dated 1822 refers to this
area as Huntsvale. When the name of the seat was chosen Huntsville
was the selected name because the Hunts (who also gave a quarter of their
land along with Goggins,and Winburn) were there first.
