Anna BETTS) in 1795.  Elizabeth (Betsy) STARR was born on 16 Jan 1771.  She died on 18 Sep 1851 in Parma, Jackson, MI.  She was buried in Campbell Cemetery, Parma Township, Jackson, MI.  Posted by k.Rattay on January 11, 1997 at 15:59:03: would like to share information on any possible links and insights into the life and times of Betsey Starr Ludlow. She was born 1771 in Danbury., Ct to Micajah Starr and Anna Betts Starr..her dad a Congregationalist converted to Baptist minister.  they moved after his involvement in the Rev. war to upstate New York where he pastored the church near to Lansing-Ludlowville in the town of Milton. She later married Silas Ludlow of Tompkins Co., NY When her husband died she went along with her youngest son West Hampton Ludlow to Jackson Co., MI then a new pioneering area...she went in 1836 and died in 1851 and is buried in Parma Twp. Jackson Co., MI next to her daughter-in-law and Her son West Hampton who was also a Baptist minister and yeoman. She is quite a woman! The cemetery is well kept and is called the Campbell cemetery...on the corner ...her stone reads "Elizabeth Ludlow wife of S. correspond K. Ludlow P. O. Box 511 Bedford, IN 47421 need a lot of proofs for DAR since rules require much primary documentation on Micajah and the works by the Starr Family genealogists
are not accepted without my making a trip to Hartford where material is

Document by P.J.Hamilton: My great-grandfather, Samuel B. Ludlow was
born in Seneca Co.,  NY in 1797 and came to indiana walking all the way, with some other settlers in 1821.  A short time later he bought a horse and rode back to NY where he married Hannah (don't know her last name).  Then he walked back while his bride rode the horse.  They settled in Fayette County and had eleven or twelve children.  One was my grand-mother, Wealthy.  They also had 55 grandchildren of which my father was one.  They farmed and had a saw mill. Their farm was still in the family when Floyd and I visited there about thirty years ago.  He died in 1879 and she in 1887. They are buried in Lick Creek Cemetery in Fayette County.  He died in 1879 in Fayette, Vigo, IN.

He was married to Hannah CAMPBELL (daughter of Simeon CAMPBELL and Hannah
(CAMPBELL)) in 1821 in Seneca, NY.  Hannah CAMPBELL was born in 1799.  She

prepared by Pearl John Hamilton: My father, Oliver Morton Hamilton,  named after the Civil War Governor of Indiana, was born April 27,  1864.  After his father [James Tyner Hamilton] died his mother [Wealthy Ludlow] went back to Fayette Co.  for a time.  Later she returned to Grant Co., and when father [Oliver] was  seven [1871] years old she married her son-in-law, George Collins.  They all lived together until her death at age 65.  Maggie married and lived in  Fairmount and Father lived with her after his mother died until he was married, October 1,  1892.  Albert married and went to Detroit where he dissapeared and was never heard of. He left one daughter.  I don't think my father was very happy as a child.  He talked a lot about the times he spent in Fayette County with his relatives there.  He learned the carpenter trade from his step-father, and built some of the buildings on his farm.  He was a good student and loved music.  He was especially good in mathematics.  He attended High School one year in Marion.  While there he became interested in drawing and I have seen some of those he did at the time.  He learned to play a baritone horn and played for several years with the Marion band.  He also played the violin and sang in a church choir.  As a young man he clerked in a store at Hackelman and a few years later he bought a store with his cousin in Rigdon.  The Post Office was in the store also and he ran that.  In 1887 they traded the store for a farm and a year or two later my father [Oliver] bought his cousin out. About 1893 he and mother settled on the farm there. Their first son, Ray was born in March 1895 and died in June of the same year.  "Dad died of a stroke after long
years of poor health having had leakage of the heart and many strokes."

Bonita. In 1946 he married Lucille (susan) Drews. For the past 11 1/2 years Mr. Naylor was in industrial relations for the Lockheed Aerospace Corp. at Vandenburg Air Force Base.  Mr. Naylor was a member of the Caifornia State Employes Association, a past president of the Santa Maria Exchange Club and a member of the board of Directors of the Santa Maria Press Club.  He was a founding father of the Northern Santa Barbara United Fund and also served as a past president.  Mr. Naylor was a member of the First Christian Church, The advisory Committee of the Santa Barbara Welfare Department and the National Management Association Vandenberg Air Force Chapter.  He was a former board member of the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce and former chairman of the Community Action Commission and a charter member of the Santa Maria Valley YMCA. Mr. Naylor was the first president of the Missile Space Recreation Association and a board member of that organization.  He was past Lieutenant Governor of District 29 of Kiwanis International and past president of the Santa Maria Kiwanis Club.  He was on the board of directors of the U.S.O. Santa Maria Servicemen's center at the time of his death. Survivors include his widow, Lucille (Susan) Naylor; two sons, Ed Naylor of Santa Maria and Sam Bowser of Norman Oklahoma; a daughter Florence Pope of Arroyo Grande; a brother, Harry Naylor of South Gate; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Gillespie of Santa Rosa and Mrs. Helen Warren of Los Angeles; and two grandchildren.
